Security Specialist

## Company: Qualcomm Incorporated ## Job Area: Facilities & Security Group, Facilities & Security Group > Security General Summary: Security Specialist * Install, maintain, and repair security systems including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control devices. * Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement of system components. * Configure and program system hardware and software according to department needs. * Test and adjust system components to ensure proper operation. * Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, wiring, and software issues. * Install and maintain low voltage wiring, electronic locks, card readers, CCTV cameras, and related equipment. * Document all work, including installation, maintenance, and repairs. * Respond to emergency service calls and perform immediate repairs when needed. * Evaluate existing systems and recommend upgrades or modifications. Level of Responsibility: * Works under supervision. * Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group. * Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information. * Tasks consist of a limited number of steps and can be referenced using directions or manuals. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Security or related work experience. OR Associate's degree and 3+ years of Security or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of Security or related work experience. *Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master’s = one year) of work experience. Preferred Qualifications * Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and related systems. * Proficiency with low voltage electrical systems and wiring. * Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. * Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. * Familiarity with network infrastructure as it relates to security systems. * Strong communication and customer service skills. * Valid driver’s license * Ability to pass background checks due to the sensitive nature of security work.
