The Manager, Specimen Data and Systems role supports the oversight, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the CBI Specimen Management System. The position focuses on ensuring data quality, supporting system users, managing reference data and load-file issues, assisting with vendor onboarding and data transfer specifications, and providing analytics/reporting support. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders across a global, matrixed organization to resolve data issues and optimize specimen data processes.
Duties/Responsibilities
* Assist in maintenance data quality in SMS in consultation with stakeholders
* Assist in maintenance of dictionaries, mapping files, and reference forms
* Assist in review and triage of failed load files (data cleaning), including monitoring of load schedule and review of individual records
* Liaise with internal and external partners to drive data quality issues to effective resolution
* Provide analytics support for advanced, custom reporting and visualizations of data in SMS
* Support stakeholders in use of SMS
* Assist in development and execution of manual uploads of data as necessary
* Assist in vendor on-boarding, including data transfer specification development and optimization
* Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement projects to optimize SMS
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a scientific- or technical-related discipline. Advanced degree a plus.
* At least 3-4 years’ experience in the biopharma industry in clinical drug development.
* Exposure to biomarkers, pharmacokinetics and/or immunogenicity specimen activities required. Firsthand knowledge of laboratory operations is highly desired
* Data management experience is highly desired, as well as programming skills
* Ability to analyze and interpret complex problems/data from a variety of sources leveraging analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, SpotFire, etc.).
* Strong customer/stakeholder focus.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to operate in a complex matrix organization.
* Ability to work with all levels of staff and management to resolve issues and update on progress with tact and diplomacy
* Ability to work with large and small teams to achieve business goals.
