About You
You are a builder at heart — an empty org chart and an unwritten playbook are the best part of the job, not the scary part. You have run full-cycle searches end to end and know how to turn a hiring manager's rough wish list into a signed offer. You are equal parts relationship-driven and operationally rigorous: you can win over a passive candidate and just as easily build out an ATS, define a scorecard, and report on funnel health. You are excited by the idea of a recruiting function that runs on automation and AI rather than manual busywork. You care deeply about candidate experience because every interaction is the company's first impression. You thrive in ambiguity — when there's no process you create one, and when it breaks you fix it without being asked.
About the Role
As Clarasight's Founding Recruiter, you'll own talent acquisition for the whole company at the moment it matters most. This is our first dedicated recruiting hire — you'll partner directly with our founders and hiring managers to build the team that builds the product, recruiting across engineering, go-to-market, and operations while designing the systems and hiring bar that scale with us across Boston, NYC, Lisbon, and London. As an AI company, we expect our recruiting function to reflect it — you'll bring automation and AI into the process wherever it raises speed, signal, or candidate experience.
Own full-cycle recruiting across every function — sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and close
Manage and build out Ashby as our system of record: pipelines, structured interview loops, scorecards, and hiring metrics
Bring automation and AI into the recruiting workflow to increase speed and signal without sacrificing candidate experience
Partner with founders and hiring managers to scope roles, calibrate on bar, and run high-signal processes
Shape and champion Clarasight's employer brand to attract exceptional talent in a competitive market
Key Responsibilities
Source and engage top active and passive candidates across technical and GTM roles
Run structured, consistent interview processes and keep every search moving with urgency
Own and optimize Ashby — workflows, automations, and integrations — as the backbone of how we hire
Establish and own hiring data — pipeline health, conversion, time-to-fill — and use it to improve
Identify and deploy automation and AI tooling to streamline sourcing, screening, and coordination
Manage agency and tooling relationships and decide when to build in-house vs. outsource
Deliver a high-touch candidate experience from first outreach through offer
Lay the foundation for a future talent team: playbooks, process, and a culture of hiring well
You'll Be a Great Fit If You…
Have 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in-house at a high-growth startup
Have recruited across multiple functions (engineering + GTM a strong plus)
Have built or meaningfully improved recruiting processes, not just executed within them
Are fluent in modern recruiting tooling and eager to apply automation and AI to the work
Are an exceptional communicator who can represent the company and close candidates
Operate with high agency and real comfort in ambiguity
Are genuinely excited about startup life and building from zero
Nice to Haves
Hands-on experience administering and building in Ashby
Experience hiring across multiple geographies, including Europe (Lisbon / London)
A track record of technical or engineering recruiting in a competitive market
Experience working alongside AI systems and applying human judgment to automated outputs
