About Gradium
Gradium is a frontier voice AI company on a mission to redefine how humans interact with machines.
Voice remains the most human, highest-stakes channel, but also the most broken. Long wait times, rigid IVRs, low automation, and poor handoffs create frustration on both sides of the line. Gradium is rebuilding voice from the ground up with proprietary models: real-time understanding, autonomous resolution, and seamless escalation when humans matter most.
We're a team of world-class talent, with initial traction and a clear belief: voice will be the next major frontier of applied AI. We recently raised a $100m seed round and are backed by top-tier investors. Our goal is not incremental improvement: it's to make AI-powered voice interactions feel reliable, scalable, and economically transformative.
Expect early-stage reality: high autonomy, fast decisions, unreasonable ambition, few handoffs, and very little process unless it earns its place.
The role
We're looking for the founding members of our Design team to shape the entire visual and product experience from the ground up. This is not a "make it pretty" role. You'll define how developers discover, perceive, understand, trust, and adopt Gradium's products, from first impression to production.
Day-to-day, you'll be embedded across GTM and product: designing demos, landing pages, and marketing assets that drive PLG conversion, while starting the deeper foundational work of design system, brand refresh, and website overhaul. You'll partner directly with Thomas (Chief Product Officer) and Constance (Chief Growth Officer) and work closely with the founding team.
At this stage there is no design system, no playbook, and no team to inherit. You'll build all of it. You should be fluent in AI-powered workflows (vibe coding, AI-assisted development, rapid prototyping) and eager to push the boundaries of what a designer can ship independently.
What You'll Do
Build the brand from scratch: Own our visual identity so that every touchpoint feels intentional and cohesive. Define how we look, sound, and feel to the outside world, from the website to the product UI to a pitch deck.
Own design operations day-to-day: Design assets, demos, landing page updates, and marketing collateral that directly support PLG conversion and brand awareness. This is immediate, high-impact work, roughly 50% of your time in the first months.
Define the product experience end to end: Own UX strategy, interaction design, and visual design across every surface Gradium ships. Turn messy, early-stage ideas into interfaces that developers understand on first contact. Establish the foundations of a design system that scales as the product and team grow.
Ship fast using AI-native tools and workflows: Use AI-assisted design and prototyping tools to move at startup speed. Leverage vibe coding and generative workflows to produce assets and functional prototypes, not just mockups. Submit your own PRs, expect to blur the line between design and front-end implementation when speed demands it.
Lay the groundwork for a design culture: Set the bar for craft and quality that future hires will build on. Establish rituals (design critiques, async reviews, shared documentation) that keep design visible and respected across the company.
Who You Are
Proven craft and output: You have a portfolio of shipped work that shows range across product UX, brand, and systems thinking. You can point to specific outcomes your design work drove, not just artifacts you produced.
Hands-on with strong taste: You move fluidly between research, product design, visual identity, and light front-end work. You care deeply about craft but never let polish slow down learning. Be obsessive about consistency and chase pixel perfection relentlessly.
Founder mindset: You act with urgency, take full ownership, and don't wait for permission or...
