The Opportunity
This position works out of our Wiesbaden location in the Abbott GmbH. In this role you will be responsible for Area Headquarter and Export Operations accounting activities not outsourced to the Abbott Corporate Financial Services group.
Your Tasks:
- Manage transactional RTR (record to report) activities falling under Core Diagnostic’s responsibility for the ADD EMEA Area Headquarters. This includes transactions recorded in Area HQ expense budgets, as well as Refurbishment accounting and Topside ledger accounting entries
- Manage lease accounting processes under ADD EMEA responsibility. This includes identification and recording of relevant contract information, forecasting, and responding to ad hoc and annual reviews of the scope of transactions subject of US GAAP lease accounting rules
- Supervise the accounting process for Customer Rebates and Payments for the Direct Export business. Ensure that transactions are processed/ recorded accurately and timely
- Supervise Analysts who are working on the Area HQ. Lease Accounting, and Direct Export transactional processes. Provide coaching and developmental opportunities; and ensure effective resource planning for continuous work coverage
- Act as Area EMEA liaison with the Dublin Hub and other responsible DFS (Corporate Financial Services) teams to ensure an environment of continuous improvement, as well as to facilitate quality control and quick issue resolutions regarding transactions recorded monthly, quarterly, and annually by the RTR (Record to Report) shared service teams
- Ensure compliance with Abbott accounting and ethics policies and procedures as relates to the transactional work undertaken; and liaise with External and Internal Auditors as required regarding information requests
- Effectively manage communication with multiple stakeholders (Diagnostic Division GM’s and Controllers, Shared Service personnel and Export Operations management)
Your Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business
- 5+ Years of Accounting experience. International Divisional, Area or Affiliate experience preferred
- Good understanding of Internal Controls
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent oral and written communication skills, innovative thinking and problem-solving ability
- Highly passionate and self-motivated individual who drives for success in a highly demanding but fulfilling work environment
