Job Description Summary
As a Computer Vision Senior Engineer/Scientist, you will join a multi-disciplinary research team developing and maturing advanced computer vision and autonomous solutions for manufacturing and field services across GE Vernova. In this role, you may define vision system architectures, develop advanced algorithms, integrate complex imaging sensors, and implement robust machine learning models to deliver automated inspection, field services, and mission-critical robotics capabilities. This senior role combines hands-on algorithm development with technical leadership, research, and collaboration with internal businesses and government partners.As a GE Vernova accelerator, GE Vernova Advanced Research is driving strategy and leading research & development efforts to execute on the business’s mission to power the energy transition. Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Research & Development: Develop high-impact technology concepts focused on computer vision algorithms, perception, and system-level integration.
- Technical Leadership: Lead and contribute to system architecture, design, and software development lifecycles.
- Strategic Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external thought leaders across the computer vision stack to identify and drive new applications and research initiatives.
Position Requirements
- Education: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 5+ years' applied experience, OR Master's Degree plus 8+ years' experience.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in at least three of the following:
- Systems architecture, design, and integration.
- Development of camera and sensor drivers.
- Software engineering and architecture for complex systems.
- Spatial Awareness: Robotic perception, SLAM, visual odometry, or 3D point cloud processing (e.g., PCL, Open3D).
- System Integration: Architecture design, sensor fusion, and driver development for complex camera/lidar arrays
- Simulation: Use of synthetic environments (e.g., NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo) for model training and validation.
- Hardware-in-the-loop: Integrating software into operational robotic systems or industrial hardware.
- Perception & Learning: Advanced computer vision algorithms, deep learning (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and model optimization for edge deployment.
- Development Proficiency: Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Execution: Proven track record of delivering technical projects and integrating software into functional, real-world systems.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
