Strategic Account Manager – Electrification (Transmission & Distribution)

As a Strategic Account Manager within GE Vernova's Electrification business, you will own the most strategically important customer relationships in our portfolio — from the Project engineer to the C-suite. You will build multi-year account strategies that connect GE Vernova's full Electrification capability with what our customers are trying to accomplish long-term. And you will do it with the credibility that only comes from having lived the technical side of this industry firsthand.
This is not a role for someone learning the energy business. It is a role for someone who is ready to lead at its highest level.

What You'll Do
You will serve as the strategic lead for key Electrification accounts, owning the relationship, the plan, and the outcomes — while coordinating across GE Vernova's full portfolio to deliver integrated solutions no single business line could offer alone.
- Own the account, end to end — maintain executive-level relationships from the C-suite down, lead regular business reviews, and develop a rolling 3+ year account strategy that aligns GE Vernova's priorities with the customer's long-term objectives, needs, and culture.
- Represent the full portfolio — advocate for the breadth of GE Vernova's Electrification (ELEC) product and service offerings, not only for HV systems and equipment, but also Protection and Control, power stability solutions (STATCOM, Synchronous Condensers, Fixed and Variable Series Compensation), Battery Storage and Solar Inverters, and Energy Management software ; drive collaboration across business lines where opportunities require complex or multi-business-line solutions.
- Drive cross-business growth — co-sell with Gas Power and Wind Power sales counterparts to improve Electrification attachment rates to new generation projects; engage with the Vernova’s Enterprise Strategic Account Executive (ESAE) counterparts to increase penetration and sharpen strategy across GE Vernova.
- Apply your technical depth — leverage your deep knowledge of HV equipment and electrical substation systems to engage credibly at every level of the customer organization, differentiate GE Vernova's solutions, and develop counterstrategies that grow share of wallet and improve win rates.
- Map and grow the relationship — develop and execute relationship mapping that connects GE Vernova leadership with the right counterparts in the customer organization; identify and create ongoing engagement opportunities.
- Measure what matters — use operational data, standard work, and metrics including Net Promoter Score (NPS) to monitor relationship health, account profitability, and strategic alignment.
- Report on Account Growth — Reporting to the VP, Business Development for North America, prepare and report quarterly on account growth and progression
Who You Are
You are a senior commercial leader with an engineering foundation, deep HV expertise, and a long track record of winning and growing share at Investor-Owned Utilities. You bring technical authority and executive presence in equal measure — and you know how to use both.
Required:
- 15 years of experience in direct sales, commercial management, account management, or a customer- or supplier-facing role within an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) environment, or end-user setting
- Engineering background with deep technical knowledge of High Voltage equipment and electrical substation systems
- 10 years of experience in the transmission & distribution (T&D) space
- Proven success building and maintaining C-suite customer relationships and managing complex, multi-product strategic accounts
- Proximity to a GE Vernova Electrification customer center of competence, or willingness to relocate
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field — a formal degree is valued, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements
Preferred:
- Experience navigating a large, matrixed organization to connect company strategy with customer strategy
- Strong financial management skills, including knowledge of utility economics and the competitive landscape
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Proximity to a major airport (within 1 hour)
- Preferred base location: San Francisco/Los Angeles CA
