Head of Creative
About Faire
Faire is a technology wholesale platform built on the belief that the future is local. Independent retailers around the globe collectively represent a multi-hundred-billion-dollar wholesale market that has historically been fragmented and offline. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so businesses can grow and local communities can thrive.
We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.
About this role
Faire is at a pivotal moment. We have built a scaled, global marketplace with a strong foundation and significant ambition ahead. What comes next is building a clearer, more unified point of view on what Faire stands for — and bringing that story to life across every customer touchpoint.
We are looking for a Head of Creative to lead Faire’s creative team and help take the brand into its next era. This person will be the creative heart of the company: a leader with exceptional taste, strong business judgment, and the ability to build trust across marketing, product, design, growth, sales, and company leadership.
You will lead a talented team of designers, writers, producers, and creative operations partners. You will sharpen our messaging, elevate our visual brand, and help the company tell clearer, more compelling stories about the value Faire creates for retailers, brands, and the future of independent retail.
This is a high-impact role for a creative leader who can hold a high bar for craft while moving at Faire’s pace. The right person is ambitious and pragmatic, strategic and hands-on, kind and low-ego — someone who can inspire great creative work and make it matter to the business.
What you’ll do
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing creative team across design, copy, production, and creative operations. Set a high bar for craft, build a culture people want to be part of, and help the team do the best work of their careers.
- Shape Faire’s company narrative and creative strategy. Partner with Marketing, PMM, Growth, Product, Sales, and leadership to translate complex products and marketplace dynamics into simple, compelling customer stories.
- Elevate Faire’s visual brand across campaigns, lifecycle, performance marketing, product marketing, events, sales materials, and executive communications. Ensure the brand feels distinct, premium, customer-centered, and scalable.
- Build trusted partnerships across the company. Help cross-functional teams understand what Creative is doing, why it matters, and how strong messaging and design can help the business move faster and perform better.
- Connect creative work to business outcomes. Use customer insight, creative testing, performance data, and strategic judgment to understand what is working, improve the work, and share learnings across marketing and the business.
- Balance speed and craft. Make smart tradeoffs based on the needs of the business, the visibility of the work, and the customer impact — and help the team understand when to move fast, when to push further, and why.
- Scale the creative operating model. Partner with Creative Ops and Production to build the resourcing model, processes, contractor/agency strategy, and tooling the team needs to support a large and fast-moving project queue.
- Help the team adopt emerging creative technologies, including AI, in ways that increase speed and output while preserving a high bar for taste, originality, and brand quality.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience leading creative teams, ideally in a high-growth technology, marketplace, consumer, or product-led company.
- Exceptional creative taste across brand, design, storytelling, and campaign work. You know what makes great creative great, and you can articulate that clearly to creative teams and business partners.
- Deep experience developing brand strategy, messaging, and customer storytelling. You can turn complex products into simple, compelling narratives that work across the funnel.
- A strong track record managing and developing creative talent. You have led designers, writers, producers, and/or creative operations partners, and you know how to build a healthy, high-performing team.
- Experience partnering with PMM, Growth, Product, Sales, and executive stakeholders. You can bring people along, create alignment, and build trust even when priorities are shifting or feedback is complex.
- Strong business acumen. You understand how creative work connects to company goals, customer behavior, and performance outcomes, and you are comfortable using testing and measurement to improve the work.
- Excellent judgment on speed vs. craft. You can manage a large creative queue, make thoughtful prioritization calls, and use contractors, agencies, technology, and process improvements to meet the needs of the business.
- A low-ego, highly collaborative leadership style. You are kind, direct, generous with context, and able to build strong relationships across teams and levels.
- Comfort with AI and emerging creative tools. You are curious about how technology can improve creative workflows and can coach teams to experiment while maintaining a high bar.
What We're Looking For
You may be a fit for this role if you are a creative leader who believes great creative should be both beautiful and useful. You care deeply about craft, but you do not treat craft as separate from business impact. You know how to make work better, how to make teams better, and how to help a company see the strategic value of creative.
You are energized by building — the brand, the team, the systems, and the creative ambition of the company. You can zoom out to shape the narrative and zoom in to make the work sharper. You are comfortable in a fast-moving environment where the answer is not always obvious, and you bring clarity, taste, and momentum to the people around you.
