Your Mission

As DMLRO and Compliance Manager for Nuvei Financial Services Ltd (NFS), Nuvei’s FCA-regulated UK e-money institution, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing effectiveness of the firm’s financial crime and broader regulatory compliance framework.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (DCCO), you will act as a senior compliance and financial crime specialist, supporting oversight of NFS’s AML/CTF arrangements, regulatory obligations, and day-to-day compliance advisory activity. You will also provide practical leadership across key compliance workstreams, helping ensure that regulatory requirements are embedded in a proportionate, operationally effective, and defensible manner.

The role will support NFS across a broad compliance agenda, including AML and financial crime controls, suspicious activity escalation, customer risk assessment, safeguarding, operational resilience, regulatory reporting, governance, policy implementation, and regulatory change.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced compliance professional with strong UK regulatory knowledge, sound financial crime judgement, and the ability to translate regulatory expectations into practical business controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the DCCO in overseeing the effectiveness of the firm’s AML/CTF, sanctions, suspicious activity reporting, and wider financial crime framework.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex financial crime matters, including onboarding, customer risk assessment, periodic reviews, event-driven reviews, transaction monitoring, PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media.
  • Provide practical compliance advice and challenge across NFS on key FCA obligations, including EMR/PSR requirements, safeguarding, operational resilience, complaints, and wider systems and controls.
  • Support the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance and financial crime policies, procedures, risk assessments, controls, and training.
  • Assist in preparing effective Board, committee, senior management, and regulatory reporting, ensuring key risks, issues, and remediation actions are clearly articulated.
  • Support engagement with the FCA, auditors, and independent reviewers, including regulatory requests, inspections, reviews, and tracking remediation activity through to completion.
  • Work closely with first-line teams, including Underwriting, Risk, Product, Finance, and Commercial, to embed proportionate, risk-based, and operationally effective compliance controls.
  • Contribute to the continued enhancement of NFS’s compliance framework through regulatory horizon scanning, control improvements, MI development, and oversight of emerging risks and regulatory change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of compliance experience in financial services, preferably within fintech, payments, banking, or digital asset environments.
  • Strong experience in financial services compliance and/or financial crime, ideally within a UK payments, e-money, acquiring, fintech, or banking environment.
  • Prior experience in a Deputy MLRO, MLRO support, senior financial crime, or compliance management role.
  • Sound working knowledge of the UK AML/CTF regulatory framework, including the Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG guidance, sanctions expectations, suspicious activity reporting, and risk-based customer due diligence.
  • Good understanding of FCA requirements applicable to payment institutions and e-money institutions, including regulatory governance, systems and controls, safeguarding, and operational resilience.
  • Experience providing second-line advice and challenge across onboarding, client risk assessment, transaction monitoring, periodic review, and event-driven review processes.
  • Ability to review complex casework and make balanced, well-reasoned, documented risk decisions.
  • Experience supporting regulatory engagement, audit activity, action plans, and senior governance reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field; certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent professional credentials are advantageous.
