As a Senor Manager Proc Engineering for Production Materials you will play a crucial role in the cost reduction in order to achieve an important value contribution to Infineon, improving the Business result. You will also be responsible to drive benchmark strategies and analyze the global procurement markets. Moreover, you will be in close contact with other departments in your contact system in Wuxi, in Warstein (GER) and Cegléd (HU) based on your daily activity. (-> to be adjusted acc. to site.) Key responsibilities in your new role * Responsible for Procurement Engineering activities for global production material and equipment categories with the objective of maximizing operating profit & sustainability. * Drives strategic (e.g. sourcing roadmaps, market analysis, Design-for-sourcing, concept savings generation), tactical (e.g. specification check, RfI/RfQ, negotiation) and operational procurement tasks in cooperation with global category management. * Acts as main technical interface to suppliers. * Leads internal cross-functional teams to develop best solutions regarding technology/innovation & TCO using value proposition methods(e.g. Feature Analysis, Technical Benchmark, …) and contributes to optimizing the processes between Operations, R&D, Business Unit and Procurement. Can be owner of material/equipment over the lifecycle, including specification ownership as well as contribution to material /equipment acquisition and management processes. * Initiate cost reduction measures in the product development process as well as in the optimization of specifications, ensuring standardization, modularization and the management of spare parts and resources (design for sourcing); * Identify and implement the cost reduction potential through the application and further development of technical levels (such as cost analysis, value engineering or technical benchmarks); * Analyze the Global Procurement markets and strive for forward-looking planning with regard to supplier selection and development with a focus on innovation potential (including the drafting of R&D supplier contracts); * Actively support the new and further technical development of the supplier portfolio and materials; * Participate in the continuous improvement through interdisciplinary and cross-location cooperation (within the areas of R&D, Marketing, Logistics and Quality management). Qualifications and skills to help you succeed * An Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Material Science or other relevant fields) or industrial related fields. * At least 9 year of experience in Procurement or other similar technical departments (ideally in the semiconductor/electrical industry). * Affinity with Economical topics would be an advantage. * Knowledge of quality techniques (e.g.: SD methodology, APQP) and standards, such as IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3. * Fluency in Chinese and English.
