Join our engineering team, where you'll help drive innovation in the development of sophisticated scientific instruments and laboratory equipment. As a Mechanical Engineer III, you'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design and deliver innovative solutions that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll work on complex mechanical systems from concept through production, applying your expertise in precision engineering, thermal analysis, and mechanical design to create robust, manufacturable products. Position Summary

We are seeking an Engineer III – Mechanical to join a growing R&D team in Hyderabad supporting new product Development, sustaining engineering, and lifecycle management for the Laboratory Equipment.

In this role, you will be a key individual contributor, owning mechanical subsystems and executing design changes to support product performance, reliability, and cost objectives. You will lead the NPD projects work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, support system integration, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the product life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Development

  • Design, develop, and support mechanical components and assemblies, including mechanisms, enclosures, and structural elements.
  • Sound knowledge in Mechanical Engineering principles on Sheet Metal, plastic part, electromechanical design in theory and practice.
  • Own subsystems or modules, including design, CAD modelling, detailing, and documentation.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and design optimisation to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
  • Experience in PLM / change management, documentation on ECO/ECR processes.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and design verification activities.

New Product Development

  • Lead the design, development, and qualification of mechanical and electro-mechanical products manufactured across global sites
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at or below target cost through robust engineering planning (quality, cost, schedule, and risk)
  • Ensure the project is driven systematically through internal phase gate process meeting all committed deliverables.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to analyse issues and implement effective solutions
  • Support compliance activities working closely with Regulatory Affairs in identifying requirements and designing products to meet the requirements.

System Integration & Technical Contribution

  • Collaborate with systems, electrical, and firmware teams to support system integration and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to system requirements, interface definitions, and verification activities through traceability matrix.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions, providing data-driven input.

Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with global R&D teams (US,APAC) for driving programs.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, service, and sourcing to resolve issues and improve product performance.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit Product Management to support execution aligned with product priorities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 9-11 years of experience in design and development of Mechanical Engineering for complex products or systems.
  • Strong experience with CAD tools and mechanical design principles.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and hands-on problem solving.
  • Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of phase gate-based product development.
  • Exposure to regulated product development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, fluid flow systems like pumps, motors, heaters.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration systems.
  • Experience with testing, validation, and product life cycle support.
