Sr. Staff Enterprise Architect
Job Description Summary
GE Vernova's next generation of engineering design runs on high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) — and you could be the person who builds and leads it. In this senior technical role, you will architect, deploy, and continuously improve cloud-based HPC and AI platforms on Amazon Web Services (AWS), directly enabling engineering teams to solve complex problems faster and more efficiently. Your work sits at the intersection of Advanced design tools, Computing Platform, export-controlled regulatory environments, and emerging AI-driven operations — a combination that is genuinely rare and genuinely important.Job Description
What You'll Do
- Architect and operate integrated HPC and AI platforms on AWS, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance for engineering design workload
- Design and implement cybersecurity controls in partnership with Compliance teams to meet U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) Export Control requirements
- Lead platform reliability by troubleshooting systemic issues and driving scalable, long-term solutions that improve cost efficiency and operational performance
- Apply AI/ML techniques to optimize infrastructure utilization, workload performance, and day-to-day operations
- Deliver architecture roadmaps aligned to product rollout needs and business outcomes, contributing to GE Vernova's long-term compute strategy
- Mentor and develop team members, leading blended teams that include third-party partners and cross-functional collaborators
Who We're Looking For
You are a senior cloud and infrastructure professional who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to shape strategy, influence stakeholders, and grow the people around you. You are comfortable in regulated environments, energized by hard problems, and experienced enough to know when to build versus when to buy.
Required
- 10+ years in cloud infrastructure or systems architecture
- Hands-on experience designing and operating AWS Cloud environments
- Strong background in Linux administration, automation, and software deployment
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools
- Knowledge of HPC schedulers, storage systems, and networking
- Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and resolve systemic technical issues
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques for infrastructure optimization or operational improvement
Preferred
- Experience producing architecture roadmaps and guiding enterprise-level solution design
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent quality or process improvement credential
- Demonstrated change management capabilities in complex, matrixed organizations
- Experience working within U.S. Export Control regulated platforms and implementing associated cybersecurity controls
Education
A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
