Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking an Industrial Engineer – Level 2 to join our team in Devens, MA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. Our talented team of engineers, managers and technologists conceive, design, develop and manufacture high precision products in an environment that requires significant collaboration and teamwork among multiple engineering disciplines. The role will report directly to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:
* Serve as the on-site industrial engineer
* Lead work cell layout in conjunction with Facilities and Value Stream Leader
* Maintain oversight, rapport, and direct awareness with all production team member and their activities.
* Conduct time studies, develop standard operating procedures, and create staffing models.
* Estimate lead times to support program proposals and MRP.
* Collect and analyze data to identify trends and drive improvements.
* Monitor labor and capital resource utilization, developing plans for efficiency and capacity management.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
* Optimize production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows.
* Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely material and equipment delivery.
* Participate in project meetings and execute special studies and projects.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
* No clearance required
* Experience with planning work in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or related STEM field
* Experience working with cross-functional teams in an aircraft or other manufacturing environment
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA and Formulas: VLOOKUP, INDEXMATCH, IF statements, pivot tables, pivot charts etc.)
* High proficiency in Microsoft Project (scheduling, resource loading, capacity, optimization)
* Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods
* Experience with SAP.
* Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
* Lean, Six Sigma, or Green Belt certification.
