Responsibilities / Position overview

We are looking for an experienced Principal Consultant to join our Asset & Organizational Strategy Consulting leadership team. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership across client engagements while helping grow our business, develop our people, and shape the future of our practice.

 

As a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the life sciences industry, you will lead complex consulting engagements, cultivate long-term client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and mentor high-performing consulting teams. You'll play a key role in advancing both our clients' success and the continued growth of our business.

 

What You'll Do:

 

Lead Strategic Client Engagements

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders across the life sciences industry.
  • Lead complex consulting engagements from project design through successful delivery, ensuring exceptional quality and measurable client impact.
  • Guide consulting teams through project execution, providing direction, coaching, and oversight to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Facilitate executive-level discussions that address strategic business challenges beyond individual project engagements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Partner with clients to develop innovative strategies that support asset, portfolio, and organizational growth.

Drive Business Growth

  • Lead the development, scoping, and delivery of compelling client proposals and strategic solutions.
  • Build, nurture, and leverage a strong professional network to generate new business opportunities.
  • Partner with colleagues to identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities across existing and prospective clients.
  • Contribute meaningfully to practice revenue growth through expansion of existing client relationships and acquisition of new business
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership, client-facing materials, and innovative service offerings that strengthen Lumanity's market position.

Develop Our People and Practice

  • Mentor, coach, and develop consultants, fostering professional growth and high performance.
  • Support talent development through performance management, feedback, and ongoing coaching.
  • Contribute to knowledge management, marketing initiatives, and other firm-building activities.
  • Help shape the strategic direction and continued growth of the Asset & Organization Strategy Consulting practice.
  • Share insights on emerging life sciences trends, market dynamics, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate across Lumanity's global capabilities to deliver integrated solutions that maximize value for our clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) preferred.
  • 15+ years of consulting and/or life sciences industry experience, including leadership responsibility.
  • Deep understanding of biopharmaceutical research and development, commercialization, organizational strategy, and the product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex strategic consulting engagements for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare clients.
  • Proven ability to build trusted executive-level client relationships and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Strong business development experience, including proposal development and revenue generation.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing consulting teams.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex scientific, commercial, and organizational challenges into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with confidence engaging senior executives.
  • Strong project leadership skills, including management of scope, timelines, budgets, and risk.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements and business development activities.
