Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager

North Reading, MAFull-timePosted Jul 22, 2026
We are seeking a Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to own build planning and production infrastructure program management in Boston. This is a high-mix, high-development environment where build campaigns change frequently, BOMs evolve between iterations, and you must integrate supply chain availability, operational capacity, and engineering demand into executable build plans while building the systems, processes, and cadences that don’t yet exist.

You will be the connective tissue between engineering, supply chain, and operations. You will take on large, ambiguous problems, develop solutions, and lead their implementation. This role requires MRP/ERP fluency, advanced scheduling, capacity modeling, and data-driven decision making. You will not just execute plans, you will define the planning infrastructure from the ground up.

Key job responsibilities
Build Planning & Production Program Management
- Own the Master Production Schedule (MPS) aligning customer demand, material availability, and operational capacity across concurrent build campaigns and product configurations.
- Integrate inputs from engineering (build requirements, BOM changes, ECOs), supply chain (lead times, supplier commitments), and operations (workforce, equipment) into a single source of truth.
- Manage build plan volatility. Rapidly re-plan when designs change, materials slip, or priorities shift. Provide impact assessments and options to leadership when disruptions occur.
- Establish and drive planning cadences (weekly build reviews, material readiness reviews, capacity sessions) for cross-functional alignment.
- Define batch sizes, sequencing, and line loading strategies for a high-mix, low-volume pilot environment.

Supply Chain Integration & Material Readiness
- Partner with procurement to ensure material availability aligns with the build plan. Track supplier commitments and delivery performance against schedule.
- Manage MRP parameters, safety stock, and reorder points appropriate for evolving BOMs and frequent engineering changes.
- Coordinate ECO implementation; manage end-of-life, substitutions, and new part introductions without disrupting active builds.
- Drive Clear-to-Build (CTB) assessments and build readiness reviews ahead of each build campaign. Identify shortages, expedite critical path items, and develop mitigation plans.

Capacity Planning & Operational Alignment
- Model production capacity including workforce availability, equipment constraints, and facility capabilities to ensure build plans are achievable.
- Perform capacity analysis for upcoming campaigns, flag bottlenecks early, and propose schedule alternatives with data-driven trade-off options.
- Support pilot-to-production ramp planning with capacity models and production rate projections.
- Manage multiple concurrent programs at varying maturity stages with end-to-end visibility.

Planning Systems, Tools & Metrics
- Develop and publish KPIs: schedule attainment, CTB rate, on-time material delivery, inventory turns, shortage resolution time. Present performance via automated dashboards.
- Create standardized processes, templates, and documentation that scale as the organization grows.
- Build automated reports and trackers using scripting (SQL, Python) where needed to eliminate manual reporting limitations.

Stakeholder Management & Program Development
- Serve as central point of contact for build schedule status. Own program communications, plans, changes, risks, and recovery options to all stakeholders.
- Operate in a high-ambiguity environment where processes, systems, and org structures are being built alongside the products.
- Take on undefined problems, scope them, develop solutions, gain buy-in, and lead implementation without perfect information.
- Build the organizational muscle (processes, tools, cadences, documentation) that enables the facility to scale from pilot to production.

Basic qualifications

- Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, or experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 5+ years of technical program management or production planning in a hardware/manufacturing/physical infrastructure environment
- 3+ years managing build schedules or NPI programs in a high-mix, multi-configuration environment
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) including configuration and data-driven planning
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related technical field

Preferred qualifications

- 7+ years in technical infrastructure program management or NPI program management spanning pilot-to-production transitions
- Experience in robotics, electromechanical systems, or advanced manufacturing
- Experience building planning systems and processes from the ground up in a greenfield environment
- Scripting skills (SQL, Python) for custom reporting and planning automation
- Track record of process improvements that measurably improve schedule attainment or material readiness
- Master’s degree or MBA; PMP or Six Sigma certification
