The Application Support Engineer – CSD Division will be responsible for providing technical and application support for Agilent's Chemistries and Supplies Division (CSD) portfolio, including chromatography columns, sample preparation products, consumables, reagents, and workflow solutions. The role focuses on enabling customer success through application consulting, method optimization support, troubleshooting, customer training, and close collaboration with sales, service, and product teams.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical chemistry knowledge, hands-on experience with chromatography workflows, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and a customer-centric mindset. This position plays a critical role in helping customers maximize the performance and value of Agilent CSD products while driving customer satisfaction and business growth.
Application & Technical Support
• Serve as the primary technical resource for customer inquiries related to Agilent CSD products including HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS columns, sample preparation products, standards, reagents, and laboratory consumables.
• Provide application guidance and troubleshooting support for chromatography workflows and analytical challenges.
• Assist customers in achieving optimal method performance through product selection and application recommendations.
• Support issue resolution by working closely with customers, field service engineers, and technical support teams.
Method Development & Optimization
• Support customers in developing, transferring, and optimizing analytical methods using Agilent chromatography columns and consumables.
• Provide recommendations on sample preparation, chromatographic separation, method robustness, and productivity improvements.
• Demonstrate best practices for improving analytical performance and laboratory efficiency.
Customer Training & Education
• Conduct customer training programs, workshops, seminars, and webinars on chromatography applications and consumable usage.
• Develop and deliver application-focused educational content, including technical guides, application notes, presentations, and training materials.
• Promote best practices for method development, troubleshooting, and instrument-consumable integration.
Customer Engagement & Success
• Partner with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide application consultation.
• Build strong relationships with customers across pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, environmental, food, chemical, forensic, academic, and contract testing laboratories.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive follow-up and continuous technical support.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer workflows and laboratory productivity using Agilent solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Service, Product Management, and Global Application teams to address customer needs.
• Provide customer feedback, market intelligence, and application insights to support product development and portfolio enhancement initiatives.
• Support new product introductions and technical marketing activities.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
• Stay current with industry trends, regulatory developments, emerging analytical techniques, and competitive technologies.
• Monitor application trends in chromatography and related analytical workflows.
• Support business growth initiatives through identification of customer challenges and opportunities.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory, applications, technical support, or customer-facing experience.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC, UHPLC, LC/MS, GC, and/or GC/MS techniques.
• Experience in method development, troubleshooting, and analytical workflow optimization.
• Knowledge of chromatography consumables, sample preparation products, and related laboratory workflows is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of chromatographic theory and analytical chemistry principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot analytical methods and chromatography-related issues.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical, environmental, food, chemical, or applied markets.
• Proficiency in scientific data interpretation and problem-solving.

Qualifications
Experience supporting chromatography columns and sample-preparation products.
Prior experience in applications support, technical sales support, or customer success roles.
Demonstrated ability to deliver customer training and technical seminars.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
