Experience in optimization of complex queries and stored proceduresSolid understanding of database design principles, including partitioning and sharing strategiesExperience with multiple database platforms, including SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)Proficiency with SQL performance analysis tools such as SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Database Tuning Advisor. Experience with performance monitoring tools and techniques for relational and non-relational databasesGood understanding of .NET, C# and object-oriented programming, with ability to work on application-level changes that integrate with databasesEducationBachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required6-9 years experience in related technologyResponsibilitiesDevelop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggersPerform SQL query optimization and index tuning to improve database performanceProactively analyze and interpret execution plans to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvementsDesign and implement efficient database schemas, including partitioning and sharding strategies for scalabilityCollaborate with application developers to ensure optimal integration between application logic and database designCarry out routine database administration tasks such as backup job scheduling and monitoringSupport and maintain databases across multiple platforms, including SQL , Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL systemsDocument database structures, processes, and optimization strategiesAbout the teamYou’ll be joining a dynamic, global cross-functional team within Moody’s Analytics Asset Management business, with focus on our Structured Finance group.
