General Summary:
The candidate will work with a fast-paced automotive systems team working on Snapdragon™ SoCs for leading car OEMs for digital cockpit and ADAS/AV solutions. The daily tasks will involve engaging with a globally diverse team of systems, HW and SW engineers across IP domains to understand program and data flows, corresponding performance requirements, and KPIs relevant for internal and customer use case scenarios. Work will involve designing, developing & maintaining system performance models that can simulate automotive use cases and generate analysis reports for performance, power & thermal analysis, then support new generation SoC product definition and design.
A background in SoC architecture fundamentals, and basic understanding of internal HW IPs, and system modelling development is preferred. Candidate is also expected to have strong analytic skills to distill & interpret model output metrics to indicate impact to SoC performance.
Role & Responsibilities
* Implementing a defined performance analysis methodology to support product-level decision making. Such methodology would cover SoC performance architecture, use cases analysis and behavioral modeling for IP such as ISP, NPU or GPU.
* Developing and maintaining platforms for automotive performance analysis methodology to enable scalable modeling of complex automotive use cases.
* Working with SW teams to prepare & maintain measurement database for online access in the models
* Modelling SoC level use cases for automotive concurrencies and maintaining a version controlled traceable summary of each analysis for our customers.
* Support on-silicon analysis of use case dataflows, validating performance in the SoC and provide guidance on potential system optimizations to improve performance and/or reduce power/thermal footprints
* Provide regular updates to functional teams regarding validated results improving accuracy of performance tools by correlating with measurements
* Maintain a repository of archived data and documentation to support the model development & customer reports
* Creating Automation of workloads\testcases based on Python scripts or other modeling language (ex. UML)
* Good written and verbal communication skills are needed to present analyses and proposals to Qualcomm’s internal and external customers
Minimum Requirements
Candidate should have a minimum of 9 years of experience in the following areas in the Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. The desired skillsets are
* Experience with SoC level performance modeling for complex use case concurrencies.
* Ability to work across diverse teams within Qualcomm and engage with customers
* Proficiency in C/C++, SystemC and Python programming
* Experience in maintaining code repository (e.g. github) and automation scripts using Perl or Python for regressions testing (e.g. Jenkins).
* A user web interface development and back-end data-base tool experience will be an advantage.
* Candidates with some experience in machine learning implementations would be an advantage.
* Past experience working in a globally distributed team would be a distinct advantage with a strong focus on clear communication & strong inter-personal skills.
Preferred Requirements
* IP HW architecture experience on CPU, GPU, NPU or ISP.
* Systems Engineer experience on Automotive SoC projects
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
