Qualcomm China
## Job Area:
Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering
General Summary:
Role Summary
We are seeking a AI solution Software Engineer focused on end-to-end latency optimization across heterogeneous compute IPs (GPU, NPU, ISP, CPU).
You will play a key role in designing, profiling, and optimizing using low latency cross-IP signaling protocol(Synx) for AI, camera, and graphics pipelines. This position involves close collaboration with camera, GPU, DSP, AI, and kernel teams to deliver low-latency, power-efficient solutions for leading OEMs
Key Responsibilities
* Own cross‑IP synchronization architecture (GPU/DSP/ISP/CPU), designing Synx flows and HW fence interop to minimize cross IP(ISP/NSP/GPU/EVA.etc) communication latency.
* Work with global team to do Synx solution optimization and China OEM Feature request development
* Design & integrate Synx interop (e.g., ICP↔NSP, EVA↔NSP) including queueing, signaling, error/flush/SSR handling, and async execution models for AI nodes, shepherd feature commercialization.
* Partner with kernel, camera (CamX), GPU, and AI teams to co‑design buffer lifecycle and synchronization semantics (DirectLink or native Synx) to avoid unnecessary copies, RPC overheads, and wakeups.
* Guide OEMs to optimize their customized use cases using Qualcomm’s cross-IP synchronization mechanism.
Basic Qualifications
* MS or higher in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field, with 8+ years of relevant software/embedded experience; or equivalent industry experience.
* Strong programming skills in C/C++. And Solid understanding of computer architecture and real-time OS and concurrency: scheduling, threads, locks, interrupt handling, memory hierarchy, DMA/IO, and HW/FW interactions.
* Strong knowledge of synchronization primitives (fences, semaphores, mailboxes), shared‑memory transports, and inter‑processor signaling (e.g., IPCC/IPCC‑Lite, RPMsg/OpenAMP or comparable).
* Strong self-motivation and ability to drive tasks independently.
* Excellent communication skills in English (and Chinese a plus); ability to work with global teams and Tier‑1 OEMs.
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with Qualcomm SoC architecture (ISP, NSP/CDSP, GPU, interconnect/QoS, IOMMU) or similar heterogeneous platforms.
* Familiarity with Qualcomm Camera pipeline & AI algorithm integration with QNN
* Experience with Kernel driver work on camera/graphics/NPU subsystems (DMA‑BUF, fencing, IOMMU); hands‑on buffer lifecycle management and zero‑copy designs.
* Experience with performance profiling and debugging on Android/Linux (e.g., ftrace/systrace, perf, camera/GPU traces, HW counters).
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
