In this role, you will own and drive architecture, execution, and technical direction for foundational firmware that enables platforms from ROM boot to OS handoff across ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V based embedded systems.You will be expected to act as a hands-on technical leader and firmware architect, guiding complex platform decisions, mentoring engineers, resolving critical system-level issues, and driving high-quality delivery across boot firmware, secure boot, RTOS enablement, device drivers, memory subsystems, and silicon bring-up.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and own the architecture of boot firmware, BSPs, platform initialization, and device driver frameworks across multiple SoC programs.Define scalable firmware designs for ROM boot, secure boot, authentication, OS handoff, memory initialization, and peripheral bring-up.Provide technical leadership for platform software running on ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V processors.Drive enablement and optimization of Zephyr RTOS, FreeRTOS, and bare-metal execution environments.Lead development of drivers and platform software for DDR/LPDDR, UFS, eMMC, NAND, SPI-NOR, NVMe, USB, PCIe, UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, and DMA.Own complex bring-up and debug across simulation, emulation, FPGA, and silicon platforms.Drive root-cause analysis for critical issues involving boot, memory, power, performance, security, and system stability.Mentor, coach, and technically guide engineers across design, development, debugging, and delivery.Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and technical deep-dives with cross-functional stakeholders.Influence long-term platform software roadmap, engineering best practices, and reusable firmware architecture.Collaborate with Hardware, ASIC, Security, Architecture, Validation, Tools, and Product teams to deliver key platform milestones.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.12+ years of experience in embedded firmware, boot software, BSP, RTOS, or low-level platform software development.Strong hands-on expertise in Embedded C and low-level system programming.Proven experience leading firmware architecture and technical execution for complex SoC platforms.Deep understanding of:ARM Cortex-M and/or RISC-V processor architecturesBootloaders, BSPs, and device driversRTOS and bare-metal systemsInterrupts, exception handling, memory protection, and multicore synchronizationSilicon bring-up and hardware-software debugStrong ability to break down complex technical problems and drive them to closure.Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical stakeholders.Preferred SkillsSecure Boot, TrustZone, cryptography, authentication, key management, and secure firmware update flows.Hands-on experience with Zephyr RTOS, FreeRTOS, UEFI/EDK2, TF-A, U-Boot, or Coreboot.ARM and RISC-V assembly programming.DDR/LPDDR initialization, memory training, and boot-time optimization.Experience with Lauterbach Trace32, JTAG, emulation, FPGA, and pre-silicon environments.Python scripting, automation, CI/CD, and firmware validation frameworks.
