Within this segment, Eaton has an opening for a Global Principal BIM Engineer – Data Center Segment. The role defines, leads, and evolves Eaton’s global Building Information Modelling (BIM) strategy to support growth, scalability, and operational excellence across the Data Centre Segment. The role provides global technical leadership for BIM standards, digital workflows, and governance, ensuring consistent, high‑quality BIM execution across regions, functions, and major data center projects from early pursuit through delivery and handover.What you’ll do:
1) Strategic Development of BIM (Global)Define and implement a long‑term global BIM strategy that scales capability and capacity across regions and functions using innovative engineering solutions to address complex challenges.Partner with regional and global Business Units to expand BIM expertise, identify competency gaps, and define global training requirements.Translate product design requirements into manufacturable solutions, ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DFM) alignment with R&D teams.Develop and standardize industrialization methodologies, processes and best practices, contributing to manufacturing engineering knowledge and capability.Develop and govern BIM subject matter expertise (SME) areas relevant to data center design, delivery, and operations operations by using technical engineering skillsetCollaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing, Application Engineering, and segment leadership to integrate cross‑functional BIM capabilities globally.Establish globally consistent BIM design standards, object libraries, and workflows to improve efficiency, safety, and scalability using operational technical engineering excellence frameworks. 2) Digitalization & Optimization of BIM ProcessesLead the global digital transformation of BIM‑related workflows to improve collaboration, integration, standardization, and automation.Support regions and Business Units in scaling BIM capability through organizational profiling, talent development, and structured upskilling programs.Identify, evaluate, and deploy advanced BIM tools and digital solutions aligned with the full data centre lifecycle.Standardize BIM best practices across global design and engineering disciplines to ensure quality and repeatability. 3) Governance & Quality Assurance in Design...
