As Staff manager/Sr Staff of Systems Engineering, Candidate will join Japan Robotics Center team to support defining system architecture, ensuring end‑to‑end integration, and shipping production‑quality robotic systems at scale. The scope of Team will include translating product requirements into robust system designs spanning compute, sensing, perception, planning & control, actuation, power, connectivity, safety, and manufacturing test while driving execution across hardware, firmware, platform software, and AI. Candidate will be assigned to one of the teams as the main mission as below.Mechatronics, Sensors & Hardware knowhow teamAccumulate Mechatronics and Hardware Knowhow for robotics, including Mechatronic designs, system requirements, sensors.Lead to design mechatronics systems for QC’s own proto development, working with robotics customers, including sensors, actuators, power systems.System Integration and Specification teamLead system integration from bring‑up through validation, field pilots, and release for customer use cases  Stand up systems V‑model and stage gates; drive design reviews, FMEA/FTA, fault injection, and root cause analysis; own system KPIs (latency, power, thermal, availability, safety). Safety, Quality & Compliance teamDefine the functional safety and operational safety concepts and lead compliance across relevant standards  Institute quality systems (DFx, PFMEA, control plans, acceptance test, reliability growth/ALT/HTOL) and lead cross‑site design transfer to NPI/manufacturing. Cross‑Functional, External and Partnership teamEstablish Partnership with Hardware, Firmware, Perception/AI, Controls, Platform SW, Cloud, PM, and Operations to deliver to schedule and cost. Manage suppliers and integrators; negotiate technical statements of work, acceptance criteria, and deliverables; ensure IP protection and security by design. Explore startup investment opportunities for RoboticsResponsibilities Technical Support : Drive the discussions of Qualcomm's Robotics market development strategy with Qualcomm Japan's local Business Development and Product Marketing teams from a technical perspective, and collaborate with IEIoT BU. Assist in the evaluation and PoC (Proof of Concept) of devices through deep technical engagement with customer implementers on demand.Project Management : Launch strategic PoC with Japan’s OEM by collaborating closely with Qualcomm Japan’s  Business Development and Product Marketing team to build demo and evaluation environments for specific projects.Technical Training : Provide necessary technical deep dive and practical training to customers as per the guidance from IEIoT BU.Solution Introduction: Support the introduction of solutions for customers, including Industrial IOT, Cloud AI, and Windows, from a technical perspective.Partnership development: Develop partnership with the potential ecosystem partners and work with IEIoT BU to establish necessary ecosystem structures for Robotics Industries such as allies with the new ISV / technical service companies, startup investment researches, and collaborations with JP Govt for subsidies.Preferred Qualifications MS/PhD in Robotics, EE, ME, CS, or related field. Background in edge AI for robotics (vision foundation models, multi‑sensor fusion, model‑based + learning‑based control, data/ML ops for robotics). Experience with global, multi‑site teams and contract manufacturers; familiarity with design transfer and factory test (ICT, EOL, calibration). Knowledge of wireless connectivity (Wi‑Fi/5G), cybersecurity for robots, and fleet management/telemetry. Prior work on humanoids, AMRs, or aerial platforms;...
