It is economic. Banks earn revenue from their balance sheets: they lend deposits, capture FX spreads, and hold funds as long as it is rational to do so. Clearing, the act of releasing funds quickly and predictably, competes directly with those economics. An institution designed to lend has a structural incentive to hold deposits; an institution designed to clear has an incentive to release them. When one institution does both, clearing loses. The result is unpredictable settlement, trapped capital, and a correspondent network shrinking by design.Why LorumLorum was founded on a different premise: clearing as the business, not a byproduct. The model has been operational since 2023 and grew 55x in 2025, with USD clearing now the majority of volumes alongside a growing treasury offering. We have applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter. The people we hire now will build the clearing and treasury infrastructure it unlocks.About the roleAs a Product Lead for Cash Management, you aren't just managing a backlog—you are owning a business line. You will be responsible for the strategic vision, commercial P&L, and operational integrity of our cash management suite. You will bridge the gap between complex US banking regulations, treasury operations, and scalable technology. You don't wait for permission from engineering; you define the "What" and the "Why," ensuring our infrastructure is a competitive moat, not just a utility.Cash Management is not just a feature set; it is an integral product line for financial institutions leveraging Lorum's infrastructure. By unifying liquidity with our custody and clearing products, our Cash Management suite empowers clients to manage their global balances actively - allowing our customers to efficiently buy FX at wholesale spot rates, hedge currency risk directly with FX derivatives, and actively earn interest on their managed funds through exposure to traditional and tokenized fixed-income assets. You’ll be building a treasury trading and management platform from the ground up. Key ResponsibilitiesP&L & Strategy: Define and execute the commercial roadmap for Cash Management products. You own the unit economics, pricing strategy, and market positioning.Regulatory & Compliance Architect: Navigate the US regulatory landscape as a core part of the product design, ensuring compliance is a feature, not a bottleneck.Operational Excellence: Partner with Ops and Treasury to automate high-stakes workflows. You are responsible for ensuring the product scales without a linear increase in headcount.High-Agency Leadership: Drive the "Product Market Fit" internally. You challenge engineering on technical debt vs. speed to market and hold stakeholders accountable for delivery.Ecosystem Integration: Lead the strategy for deep integrations with clearing banks, ERPs, and liquidity providers to create a seamless liquidity experience.Data-Obsessed Iteration: Move beyond "user feedback" to hard telemetry—monitor liquidity flows, settlement speeds, and failure rates to ruthlessly optimize the product.Delivery Management & Engineering PartnershipWhile your primary focus is the 'What' and 'Why,' successful execution hinges on a high-octane partnership with Engineering.Outcome Accountability: Own the delivery timeline end-to-end.
