ERM China is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Environmental Consultant to join our team to join our Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) Team. This role requires expertise in environmental site assessments, human and ecological health risk assessments, and the design and implementation of large-scale, complex soil and groundwater remediation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust business development capabilities, with the ability to proactively identify new project opportunities and develop client relationships. They should have a proven track record of engaging multinational clients and building connections with stakeholders at local, regional and global corporate levels. The role will be based in Beijing, China.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development: Drive business growth through high-level engagement with regional and corporate clients. Proactively identify project opportunities and strategic partnerships, and independently develop new clients to expand the customer portfolio.
Environmental Site Assessment: Conduct comprehensive environmental site assessments to identify and evaluate potential contaminants and risks.
Risk Assessment: Perform human and ecological health risk assessments to inform remediation strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Remediation Design & Implementation: Lead the design and execution of large-scale soil and groundwater remediation projects, ensuring effective and sustainable solutions.
Proposal Preparation: Prepare compelling proposals and technical documents that clearly communicate project objectives, methodologies, and expected outcomes.
Project Management: Manage complex asset lifecycle and risk management projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and alignment with client expectations.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on remediation, sustainability, asset retirement and brownfield projects preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong expertise in environmental site assessments, risk assessments, remediation technologies and H&S.
Business Acumen: Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships at a strategic level, recognize prevailing market conditions, with a focus on business development in Mailand China and the greater APAC region.
Writing Skills: Excellent proposal preparation and technical writing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage various stakeholders, including clients, regulators and the public.
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage highly complex projects and lead/collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Open to travel locally.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., PE, PG, or similar) are a plus.
