Citi is looking for a Senior Credit Officer at the Vice President level to join our Institutional Credit Management (ICM) team in Taguig City, Philippines — a senior individual contributor role where your credit expertise directly shapes lending decisions across commercial, corporate, and institutional portfolios. Working closely with banking teams, you will assess, structure, and decision complex credit requests across a diverse client base, serving as a recognized credit authority within one of the world's most global financial institutions. Your analytical judgement will drive credit risk outcomes at scale, contributing to the financial health of businesses and the communities they serve.
## Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end credit underwriting for commercial and institutional lending requests, owning credit decisions for new and existing clients in alignment with Citi's credit risk policies and regulatory standards.
* Produce detailed credit memos and written analyses that assess business viability, interpret financing needs, identify key risk factors, and deliver a clear, well-supported credit recommendation.
* Conduct in-depth financial analysis — including trend analysis, ratio analysis, and financial spreading — on companies with complex structures, including those with foreign subsidiaries or cross-border parent organizations.
* Assess the repayment capacity of individuals, guarantors, and co-borrowers through analysis of cash flow statements, tax returns, and personal financial statements.
* Perform industry and market research, geographical due diligence, and competitive analysis to inform credit assessments and support portfolio management across ICM's coverage groups.
* Monitor compliance with credit policies and applicable regulatory requirements, ensuring the business unit maintains satisfactory standing with internal and external auditors.
* Mentor junior credit officers and provide coverage leadership for the credit underwriting function, strengthening team capability and supporting continuous improvement.
## Required Qualifications & Skills
* 6–10 years of credit authority experience within commercial, corporate, or institutional lending, including exposure to regulatory and compliance policy environments.
* Advanced ability to assess individual and company financial statements, cash flow positions, and industry-level dynamics, including complex organizational structures with cross-border entities.
* Solid grounding in accounting principles and their practical application in the credit underwriting process.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive credit write-ups and memos that clearly communicate risk, structure, and decision rationale to stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
* Strong organizational discipline with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive credit assessments accurately in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools, including the ability to build and interpret financial models, graphs, and charts.
## Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
* Experience managing or contributing to a commercial or institutional credit portfolio, including monitoring credit performance and portfolio-level risk trends.
* Familiarity with a broad range of banking products and services across the consumer, commercial, and institutional spectrum.
* Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives within a credit or risk function.
