MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Secure Communications Lead the work you’ll provide the full range of Customer Support and Engineering Services to meet the mission needs of the Department. This includes enhanced service delivery and response times to support all DT customers across all devices and services, utilizing a comprehensive and efficient approach to enable the Department’s global footprint, which encompasses approximately 175,000 desktops and laptops, and over 65,000 mobile phones and tablets.

The Contractor shall provide design, engineering, configuration, sustainment, and technical support for the Department’s secure voice and video communications systems. The infrastructure for these systems shall enable secure (Secret and TS/SCI) voice and video-based conference calls, ensuring timely, reliable, and interoperable communications among senior U.S. Government leadership. The Contractor shall deliver a modern, high-quality, worldwide secure voice communications solution, enabling the Secretary of State, Ambassadors, Diplomats, Principals, and Posts, as well as the President, White House, Cabinet-level officials, and other senior U.S. Government entities, to communicate securely 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You will provide design, engineering, and support secure voice and video communications systems. Ensures interoperability, compliance, and 24/7 availability for senior leadership and interagency partners
 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Secure Communications Lead must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, telecommunications, or related field

  • 7+ years of secure voice/video systems experience (including classified environments)

  • Experience with interagency secure communications and compliance (CNSS, NIST)

  • Experience supporting Red Switch or similar secure telephony systems

  • Active Secret security clearance. The ability to obtain a Top Secret / SCI security clearance by the time of award as required by the contract

  • Work Experience: Design, engineer, configure, and optimize secure voice and video communication solutions and systems to maintain interoperability across U.S. Government agencies and departments, supporting both domestic and overseas locations

  • Work Experience: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues affecting secure voice and video services, ensuring minimal disruption to mission-essential communications.

  • Work Experience: Work closely with interagency partners to ensure end-to-end secure voice and video service interoperability and continuity during national crises, diplomatic operations, humanitarian efforts, and routine Government business.

  • Work Experience: Develop, maintain, and update system documentation, engineering baselines, and configuration control records to support modernization and long-term sustainment of secure voice and video platforms.

  • Work Experience: Conduct regular testing, validation, and monitoring of secure voice and video infrastructure to ensure performance and compliance with federal and national security systems standards.

  • Work Experience: Perform system maintenance and upgrades, producing and maintaining security documentation necessary to support Authority to Operate (ATO) compliance requirements.

  • Work Experience: Provide technical support and training to Red Switch operators.

  • Work Experience: Produce and maintain current and future technical manuals, system diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering documentation to ensure continuous operations and effective support.

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
