LOGINGo back to jobsCalibration InternBengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaApply for this jobSHARE DepartmentCamera DesignJob posted onJun 03, 2026Employment typeInternApply for this jobSHARE Role: Calibration Engineer Intern Employment Type: Intern (6months) Educational Qualification: BS/MS in Mechanical or Optical Engineering or Quality Engineering; plus strong industry experienceWork Experience: Fresher with background with optical or optomechanical assembliesRole Description: Camera Calibration Engineer responsible for developing and implementing algorithms to accurately calibrate camera systems for optimal image quality and geometric precision.Responsibilities & Duties: Develop new testers/critical optical components to meet design requirements for calibration and test.Participate in Pre flight calibration including geometrical, spatial and radiometric calibration, aberration characterisation, stray light test etc.Develop and lead alignment and integration of the payload to the busDevelop and deploy software that calibrates and tests imaging systems.Assist in Commissioning and in flight calibrationAnalyse volume data to provide mentorship on engineering decisions.Assist QA in formulating milestone based checks and verification procedures forthe payload.Desirable Skills & Certifications:Experience with working in an optical laboratory and familiarity with optical metrology tools an advantageDeep understanding of imaging systems & camera technology.Mechanical/HW/SW problem solving and optimisation skill.Experience in lens characterisation methodology and calibration.Experience in image processing or software development, programming experience with C++ / Matlab / Python preferred.Exposure/knowledge about thermal properties, space-qualified materials and adhesives.Test plan, procedure, and report preparation for different environmental tests performed on spacecraftWell  conversant  with  quality  standards  defined  by  different  space agencies and organisationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to read and interpret data, information, and documentsCandidate Acumen: Demonstrates strong analytical and mathematical acumen with deep understanding of camera models, calibration algorithms, and system-level integration for high-precision imaging.Benefits:Health insurance coverageUnlimited leaves & flexible working hoursRole-based remote work and work-from-home benefitRelocation assistanceProfessional Mental Wellness servicesCreche facility for primary caregivers (limited to India)Employee Stock Options for all hiresAbout PixxelPixxel is a space data company and spacecraft manufacturer redefining Earth observation with hyperspectral imaging.
