Team Overview

The Team Lead – Cash Application is responsible for leading the Cash Application team within the Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) function, ensuring timely and accurate application of customer payments, reconciliation of unapplied cash, resolution of remittance issues, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). The role involves people management, stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and operational excellence to support efficient Order-to-Cash operations.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

The Team Lead – Cash Application is responsible for leading the Cash Application team within the Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) function, ensuring timely and accurate application of customer payments, reconciliation of unapplied cash, resolution of remittance issues, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). The role involves people management, stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and operational excellence to support efficient Order-to-Cash operations.

• Manage day-to-day cash application operations and payment posting.
• Drive timely resolution of unapplied and unidentified cash.
• Monitor team productivity, accuracy, and SLA performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts.
• Collaborate with Collections, Credit, Treasury, and Accounting teams.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex payment and reconciliation issues.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.
• Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities.
• Prepare and present operational KPIs and dashboards.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Cash Application, Accounts Receivable, and Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) processes.
• Proven people management and team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as PeopleSoft etc.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
