In this position...
As an Automotive Seat Systems Engineer, you will drive the end-to-end design, integration, and delivery of complete automotive seating systems that directly impact customer comfort, craftsmanship, and safety. You will play a pivotal role in bringing innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective seating solutions from initial concept through vehicle launch. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, supply partners, and assembly facilities to ensure engineering deliverables, product timing, and system performance targets are met with excellence.
What you'll do...
- Lead the design, integration, and engineering delivery of complete automotive seating systems and assemblies across the full product development lifecycle.
- Drive cross-functional engineering deliverables to achieve performance, quality, craftsmanship, weight, and cost targets for all program gateways.
- Manage seating system financial and technical metrics, tracking cost status, weight optimization, and supplier sourcing packages.
- Coordinate with global supply partners to manage tooling, component development, and program delivery schedules.
- Provide hands-on technical support at prototype, pre-production, and final assembly plants during build phases and vehicle launch.
- Lead root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving to identify, track, and resolve system-level engineering and manufacturing issues.
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 3+ years of experience in automotive product engineering, component design, or systems integration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the full vehicle product development lifecycle, including hands-on experience supporting at least one vehicle launch.
- Strong proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Root Cause Analysis) and data-driven decision-making.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to create timing plans, track issue resolution, and drive deliverables with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate technical ideas clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership.

- Prior experience specifically focused on automotive seat complete design and integration.
- Hands-on experience supporting supplier assembly facilities and manufacturing plants during early build phases.
- Familiarity with industry-standard computer-aided design (CAD) concepts, engineering release processes, and issue tracking tools.
