In addition to an online store, Rexel USA has a distribution network of over 460 warehouse storefront locations throughout the U.S.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Director Region Category Strategy to join our Mayer team Remotely in Birmingham, AL!Summary: The Director Region Category Strategy is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and strategic market leadership in a specified product category. This role blends product category management, supplier partnership, and business development leadership. The Category Director will work closely with the sales teams, wire center, and key manufacturing partners to develop and execute strategies that expand market share, improve profitability, and position the region as the leading provider in our markets. What You'll Do: Own regions assigned product category strategy, including pricing, supplier alignment, and market positioningManage key supplier relationships, including strategic partnerships with manufacturersMonitor market dynamics including pricing, supply chain trends, and competitive positioningLead rebate strategy, supplier programs, and margin optimization initiativesWork closely with regions procurement teams to ensure inventory strategy aligns with market conditionsPartner with region sales teams to develop and win large opportunitiesSupport complex projects by helping customers evaluate solutions, value engineering opportunities, and labor-saving alternativesIdentify opportunities to expand region presence in large project work, datacenter, industrial, and construction segmentsAssist sales teams in positioning region as a solution providerServe as a technical and commercial resource for the fieldIdentify and pursue new growth opportunities within assigned product categoryHelp develop and implement a product specialization strategy, supporting both product leadership and customer growth initiativesWork with internal leaders to evaluate regional coverage, resource allocation, and market opportunitiesProvide insights and recommendations to leadership on pricing trends, competitive positioning, and profitability improvementCollaborate with Product Management, Strategic Growth team, Operations, and Regional sales leadershipSupport regions broader strategy of specialization and category leadershipOther duties as assignedJob Duties Disclaimer: The information contained in this job description is intended to describe the essential job functions required of those assigned to this job.
