The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact
1.You will lead and execute quality improvement projects using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 8D problem-solving.
2. You will analyze manufacturing data, identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
3. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, supply chain, and engineering to implement quality solutions and best practices.
4. You will develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
5. You will conduct internal and external audits to assess process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
6. You will provide training and mentorship to junior quality professionals and manufacturing personnel on quality tools and techniques.
7. You will monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and report on progress of improvement initiatives to management.
8. You will drive a culture of continuous improvement and excellence throughout the manufacturing operations.
9. You will participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes to ensure quality requirements are met from design to production.

10. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing quality improvement, quality engineering, or a similar role within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
3. Strong understanding and practical application of quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt certification preferred, Lean Manufacturing principles, SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D).
4. Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and quality management systems (QMS).
5. Demonstrated ability to lead complex problem-solving initiatives and drive sustainable quality improvements.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
8. Experience with ISO 9001 and other relevant industry quality standards.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
