As an Associate Professional at SPM Oil and Gas, you will process requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

As the Associate Procurement Professional, you will: 

  • Developing improvement plans to support buyers & professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.

  • Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assign process area, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

  • Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.

  • Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.

  • Performing spend analysis to identify savings opportunities in terms of price-to-price savings, supplier rebates (impacting profit and loss statement) as well as payment terms improvement, vendor consignment (impacting balance sheet).

  • Developing applicable sourcing strategies to each savings project by conducting the 7 steps of strategic sourcing process right from spend analysis, market research, the RFx (Request for Quotation/Information/Proposal) process, to negotiation, contracting, onboarding, through to monitoring performance.

  • Engaging key suppliers who are the top 20% suppliers with 80% spend on a regular performance monitoring in terms of pricing, quality, and on time delivery to ensure the key suppliers are delivering to expectation.

  • Sourcing for new or alternative suppliers or explore product substitution and collaborate cross-functions to onboard potential suppliers who can provide the goods and services at the most competitive rate without compromising on quality and lead time.

  • Developing a price book with a daily update or as and when the negotiations are completed and contracted such that buyers and cost estimators along with tendering team can have the most updated reference on pricing at any time of the day.

  • Ensuring all contractual agreements for both hard and softcopies are monitored, tracked, and kept in a proper manner in a central repository.

  • Key performance indicators to track if all the above are executed successfully are (a) savings as a percentage of spend (Savings % Spend) and (b) days payable outstanding (DPO).

The successful candidate must bring:

  • University Degree with minimum 3 years’ experience in Engineering or Supply Chain or similar other roles.

  • Familiar with ERP (Syteline) system.

  • Good communication in English.

  • Excellent negotiation, organizational, and collaboration skills.

  • Have a basic understanding of certain areas (i.e. finance, accounting, tax, and legal).

Top candidates will also bring:

  • Capability to do industry benchmarking and market intelligence reports independently.

  • Experience in conducting the 7 steps of strategic sourcing process.

  • Passionate in cost efficiency without compromising lead time and quality requirements.

  • Ability to understand and/or converse in Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus for the purpose of liaising with suppliers from China.

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.

  • This job requires 10-20% of travelling within Indonesia and overseas.

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is not available for this position.
