In this role, you will deliver comprehensive, member-centered care on an as-needed basis while upholding our commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery. This position offers flexible scheduling — with availability for approximately 5 shifts per month — while maintaining high-quality clinical standards and collaborative care approaches. The Advanced Practice Provider delivers medical care within their scope of practice as delineated by the supervising physician, in alignment with our mission of transforming healthcare through our payvider model. The APP will provide acute and urgent care services to members across a broad range of presentations, ensuring timely, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment in an Express Care setting at our Round Rock, North University and Onion Creek locations. One Saturday per month is required at our Round Rock Express Care location. POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate, diagnose, and treat members presenting with acute, urgent, and episodic medical conditions in an Express Care setting on a PRN basisObtain comprehensive medical histories and perform thorough physical examinationsOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging as clinically appropriateDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with evidence-based clinical guidelinesPrescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practiceEducate members and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up careCollaborate with the broader Harbor Health care team to ensure appropriate referrals, care coordination, and continuity of careAccurately and efficiently document all clinical encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) systemAdhere to all regulatory, compliance, and credentialing requirementsContribute to a culture of continuous improvement, member safety, and clinical qualityMaintain flexibility to support clinic operations on a PRN basis as scheduling needs ariseDESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCERequired:Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant programCurrent state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of TexasBoard certification by the appropriate national certifying body (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent)Current DEA registration with prescriptive authorityCurrent BLS CertificationMinimum 2 years of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or a related ambulatory care setting preferredStrong clinical assessment diagnostic reasoning skillsExperience working with diverse member populations across age groupsProficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systemsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build trust with members quicklyAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to Harbor Health's mission of transforming healthcare in TexasAbility to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationshipsFlexibility to work various shifts and adapt to changing clinical needsPreferred:At least 2 years of experience in ambulatory care, urgent care, or emergency medicine settings as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantProficiency with electronic medical record systemsBilingual in English/Spanishwork Environment:PRN scheduling with flexibility...
