The Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to strengthen our Legal function at Lucanet. This role sits at the center of a fast-moving, commercially driven SaaS business and will take ownership of commercial contract negotiation, corporate legal strategy, and day-to-day legal support for the business. You will work closely with our Director Legal and act as a trusted legal partner to internal stakeholders across Sales, Product, Finance, People, and other core functions. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who combines expert-level commercial contract expertise with a strong hands-on mindset, pragmatic judgment, and the ability to drive legal matters forward independently in an international environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead commercial contract negotiation, review, and execution across customer agreements, NDAs, partnership agreements, and other commercial arrangements.
  • Manage contract workflows and support Sales and Product teams in closing deals efficiently while protecting Lucanet's commercial and legal interests.
  • Manage and coordinate legal entity requirements, including regulatory filings, governance-related documentation, and register-related updates across jurisdictions.
  • Provide day-to-day legal support to the business via internal request flows and legal ticket handling.
  • Work closely with external counsel and notaries on jurisdiction-specific corporate and commercial matters.
  • Support due diligence and selected transaction-related activities, including preparation of legal documentation and coordination of requests.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal workflows, documentation standards, contract templates, and overall legal operations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across functions and act as a pragmatic, service-oriented legal advisor.
  • Balance commercial agility with legal accuracy, ensuring that deals move forward without unnecessary friction while protecting the business.

What you bring to the table

  • Several years of professional experience in Legal, with a strong focus on commercial contract negotiation, drafting, and review.
  • Proven track record managing commercial contracts in a SaaS, technology, or fast-paced commercial business environment.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial legal principles, contract law, and business-facing legal support—especially in relation to customer agreements, NDAs, MFAs, and partnership contracts.
  • Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken), with the ability to negotiate and draft contracts confidently in both languages.
  • Strong understanding of German corporate law and the ability to work effectively in a German legal context.
  • Experience working in an international, multi-entity environment and coordinating with external counsel across jurisdictions.
  • A highly structured, detail-oriented, and reliable way of working.
  • Strong ownership mentality and the ability to manage topics independently from start to finish.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic approach with the ability to move deals forward while maintaining legal rigor.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and balance commercial and corporate legal work in a dynamic environment.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have the legal right to work in the country of employment.
