The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, you will help deliver the HVDC converter stations that support the Dutch energy transition. As a Site Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor, you will provide technical oversight and support across multiple HVDC construction projects throughout the Netherlands, ensuring mechanical and electrical installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with Construction Managers, Site Managers, contractors, engineering teams, and commissioning specialists, you will act as a key point of contact for mechanical and electrical installation activities.

You will support project teams in resolving technical challenges, maintaining quality compliance, and driving best practices across site operations.

This role is ideal for an experienced M&E professional from a building services, electrical installation, HVAC, or construction background who enjoys working across multiple projects, advising stakeholders, and contributing to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

How you'll make an impact

• Provide technical oversight and support for mechanical and electrical installation activities across multiple HVDC construction sites.

• Monitor installation progress and ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements.

• Support contractors and site teams in resolving technical issues and identifying practical solutions.

• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and safe working practices.

• Review and support the implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Inspection Test Records (ITRs), and associated quality documentation.

• Monitor installation quality, identify non-conformances, and support corrective actions to ensure compliance with project requirements.

• Coordinate with engineering, construction, quality, and commissioning teams to support successful project execution.

• Review red-line drawings and as-built documentation to ensure installation records remain accurate and up to date.

• Support construction readiness, commissioning preparation, and project handover activities.

• Share lessons learned and best practices across project teams to drive continuous improvement.

Your background

• Significant experience within Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), Building Services, Electrical Installation, HVAC, or related construction environments.

• Proven experience supporting the installation, inspection, testing, and quality assurance of mechanical and electrical systems on large-scale construction projects.

• Strong understanding of installation methods, technical drawings, construction standards, and quality processes.

• Experience working with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Inspection Test Records (ITRs), and construction quality documentation.

• Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, site teams, engineers, and project stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluent Dutch and English language skills, both written and spoken.

• Willingness to travel regularly across project sites within the Netherlands.

Preferred

• Background as an electrician, electrical technician, HVAC specialist, building services professional, or M&E construction supervisor.

• Experience within energy, industrial, infrastructure, mission-critical, or major construction projects.

• Familiarity with NEN 1010 and other relevant Dutch industry standards.

• Experience supporting commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.

• Technical qualification, apprenticeship, or degree in a relevant discipline.

• Bieden van technisch toezicht en ondersteuning voor elektrotechnische en werktuigbouwkundige installaties op meerdere HVDC-projectlocaties.

• Monitoren van de voortgang van installatiewerkzaamheden en zorgen dat werkzaamheden worden uitgevoerd volgens projectvereisten, kwaliteitsnormen en planningen.

• Ondersteunen van aannemers en projectteams bij het oplossen van technische vraagstukken en het identificeren van praktische oplossingen.

• Bevorderen van een sterke veiligheidscultuur en toezien op naleving van gezondheids-, veiligheids- en milieueisen.

• Beoordelen en ondersteunen van de implementatie van Inspection & Test Plans (ITP's), Inspection Test Records (ITR's) en overige kwaliteitsdocumentatie.

• Bewaken van de installatiekwaliteit, signaleren van afwijkingen en ondersteunen van corrigerende maatregelen.

• Coördineren met engineering-, kwaliteits-, commissioning- en bouwteams om een succesvolle projectuitvoering te waarborgen.

• Controleren van red-line tekeningen en as-built documentatie om nauwkeurige projectregistratie te garanderen.

• Ondersteunen van commissioning-, test- en overdrachtsactiviteiten.

• Bevorderen van kennisdeling, best practices en continue verbetering tussen projectlocaties.

Jouw achtergrond

• Aantoonbare ervaring binnen elektrotechniek, werktuigbouwkunde, gebouwgebonden installaties (E&W), HVAC of vergelijkbare technische projectomgevingen.

• Ervaring met installatie-, inspectie-, test- en kwaliteitsprocessen binnen grotere bouw- of infrastructuurprojecten.

• Goed begrip van installatiemethoden, technische tekeningen, relevante normen en kwaliteitsprocedures.

• Ervaring met Inspection & Test Plans (ITP's), Inspection Test Records (ITR's) en kwaliteitsdocumentatie.

• Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en het vermogen om effectief samen te werken met aannemers, engineers en projectteams.

• Praktische probleemoplossende instelling en een proactieve werkwijze.

• Vloeiend Nederlands en goede beheersing van de Engelse taal, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk.

• Bereidheid om regelmatig te reizen tussen projectlocaties binnen Nederland.
