Joining Collibra’s IT team
Collibra is looking for a Senior Director of Information Technology who is equal parts strategist, technologist, and builder. This is not a role for someone who manages from a distance. Your credibility will come from setting the vision and being technically grounded enough to hold your team to it. You have personally built AI-powered workflows, not just overseen teams that did, and you bring that firsthand experience into how you lead, evaluate, and raise the bar.You will own the IT function: defining the strategy, leading a team across Infrastructure, Automation, and IT Support, and personally driving Collibra's internal AI roadmap. AI is not a workstream you inherit here. It is central to how this team operates, invests, and delivers. You will embed AI into infrastructure decisions, automation pipelines, and employee support, building the most forward-looking IT function in the industry. This role reports to the Chief People Officer and is a key voice in shaping how Collibra operates as an AI-first company internally. This is a hybrid role based in our Raleigh or NYC office. Our hybrid model means you'll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

Senior Director, Information Technology ’s at Collibra are responsible for
- Own the strategy and execution of Collibra's IT roadmap by serving as the trusted technology partner to business and engineering leaders and ensuring reliability, business continuity, scalability, security, and AI-readiness across our global workforce and office environments
- Lead and develop a team across IT Infrastructure, IT Enterprise Applications, and IT Support
- Partner with the AI Committee to define an internal AI strategy and framework for implementation that also drives adoption of AI technologies across the organisation
- Partner with senior leaders to develop functional AI roadmaps by identifying opportunities to build workflows across the business that improve operational efficiency, velocity and output
- Drive the development of Collibra's internal AI deployment framework and lead adoption across non-technical teams — defining how the organization embeds AI into how work gets done, in partnership with the AI Committee and Engineering. The measure of success is behavioral change across the business, not tools deployed
- Set strategic direction for identity and access management (Okta), endpoint management (WorkspaceOne), and cloud environments (AWS, GCP), ensuring the technical foundation is secure and built to support AI at scale
- Establish and track KPIs across IT disciplines, using data to drive continuous improvement in system uptime, ticket resolution, employee satisfaction, and infrastructure performance
- Partner with Security, GRC, Legal, People and Engineering to improve our governance, risk and security posture, improve risk mitigation, data privacy, and implementation of responsible AI across our platforms
- Serve as the executive technology partner to business and engineering leaders, building trusted relationships that align enterprise technology strategy, AI adoption, and operational priorities while driving measurable business outcomes.
- Own IT vendor relationships, participate in contract negotiations and budget planning, ensuring the company has the right tools to meet current needs and future growth
You have
- 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role in a SaaS or technology environment
- Demonstrated fluency across the current AI tool landscape: you are actively experimenting, current on where the technology is heading, and can translate firsthand knowledge into principled buy vs build decisions for the organization
- A track record of leading multi-functional IT organizations across Infrastructure, Integration/Automation, and Support
- Executive-level experience developing and presenting multi-year IT strategies and AI roadmaps to C-suite and Board-level stakeholders
- Deep expertise across enterprise platforms (Okta, AWS, GCP, Azure, Atlassian, Google Workspace) and automation tools (Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience owning enterprise IT governance, vendor strategy, budget, and risk and compliance management (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)
- A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent; advanced degree or certifications preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot) to solve real-world business challenges, drive measurable outcomes, or streamline workflows.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
You are
- An executive-level leader who sets a bold vision and develops the leaders beneath you to execute with excellence
- A hands-on builder: you have personally designed and shipped AI-powered workflows and bring that credibility into every conversation about what is possible
- Genuinely curious and believe in the power of AI: you don't just follow the roadmap, you shape it, and you bring informed, practical opinions about where AI creates real business value
- A systems thinker who connects infrastructure, automation, support, and AI into a coherent enterprise technology strategy
- A strategic communicator who translates complex technical decisions into clear business narratives that drive executive alignment
- A proven change leader who brings people along through ambiguity and has a track record of IT transformation
- Outcome-oriented: you define success in measurable terms and hold your team accountable to project impact, SLA performance, and business value delivered
- An operator who treats reliability, security, and service quality as baseline and not background noise behind AI
Measures of success
- Within your first two weeks, you have completed a listening tour with the C-suite, cross-functional key stakeholders and your direct reports, reviewed the current IT stack, open vendor commitments, and already have a working hypothesis about where AI creates the most near-term leverage. You are not still gathering input — you have a point of view and you are pressure-testing it.
- Within 30 days, you have mapped the critical gaps across Infrastructure, Integration Automation, and IT Support, identified at least one workflow to ship in the next 30 days, and presented a preliminary IT strategy framing to the CPO and key stakeholders. The team knows how you operate and what you expect.
- Within 60 days, you have presented a full IT strategy and AI roadmap to executive stakeholders with baked KPIs. You have implemented a prioritization framework that enables us to build solutions for the most valuable workflows. You have shipped at least one workflow that is live and showing measurable impact — not in design, not in pilot, but running. A vendor evaluation framework is in place so the team is making informed buy vs. build decisions. You have assessed the team's AI fluency and have a development plan in motion.
- Within 90 days, you have shipped at least one more workflow, IT support has measurably reduced ticket volume or resolution time through deflection or routing and you can show the number. At least one integration automation has been redesigned using AI tooling with documented time savings or error reduction. Collibra IT is operating as a strategic driver — not just a support function.
