MAIN JOB PURPOSEThe Wet Chem Laboratory/AAS Technician will be responsible for analyzing assigned samples in the most accurate, productive and timely manner according to the relevant test method and work instructions.2. REPORTING LINEYou will be reported to the Senior Chemist/lab supervisor3. RESPONSIBILITIESPerform all analytical functions to support laboratory activities in an enthusiastic and professional manner, in accordance with procedures to ensure complete customer satisfaction.Perform all analyses according to documented methods and work procedures.Work in an organized and orderly manner to optimize laboratory performance.Check all laboratory equipment according to a specified procedure.Effectively supervise staff to achieve optimal production levels.Maintain a high level of laboratory maintenance.Responsible of instruments at the Wet Chem. Section like the AAS, ICP , UV , LECO and XRF.4. Other Specifications4.1 SafetyEnsure that the required PPE is worn at all timesEnsure that correct hygiene procedures are followedEnsure that a high level of housekeeping is maintainedReport all incidents and accidents to the supervisor or managementEnsure that SMS Q&HSE procedures are implemented and followedBe diligent in ensuring safety while performing tasks4.2 OperationalActively participate in all shift activities recommended by supervisors to ensure that customer processing requirements are metReport all necessary maintenance work to ensure normal operationsMaintain a clean work area and assist with scheduled cleaning and maintenance workEnsure that all analytical methods are followed according to specified instructionsReport all application issues related to instruments or instrument management4.3 Quality ControlAssist in the proper maintenance of records and control systems for all documentsEnsure that all non-conformities are noted, repaired, or reported as requiredUpdate equipment/material maintenance recordsEnsure that all solutions/standards are properly labeledEnsure that dispensers, scales, and hot plates are checked every shift4.4 Administration Keep management informed of problems within the laboratory. Notify management when an item is running low on stock. Participate in training as needed Maintain good relationships with all clients.Maintain good relationships with all relevant government authorities and community. Qualifications5. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS5.1 EducationHave a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent5.2 ExperienceHave at least one year of experience in a similar position.5.3 SkillsTechnical knowledgeGood communication skillsUnderstanding of wet chemical analysisAbility to operate all equipment and instruments within the section like AAS,ICP,UV and XRF.Additional InformationOther Info:Preferred second language as EnglishCity based commercial operation shift rotation scheme if not local employmentFlexible working hours as required (with arrangements in advance)Often require to attend emergency service callsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
