## About the Role
The Microcontroller Sub-System IP team plays a critical role in delivering embedded processing solutions used across Qualcomm's diverse product portfolio, including Mobile, Automotive, IoT, XR, and Compute. The team develops and verifies technologies supporting security, power management, and other key system-on-chip (SoC) functions.
We are looking for a motivated Verification Engineer or Senior Verification Engineer to join our growing team in Cork. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex verification challenges, contribute to cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with talented engineers in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
## Responsibilities
As a Microcontroller Sub-System Verification Engineer / Senior Engineer, you will:
* Develop and execute verification plans for microcontroller and subsystem IPs.
* Create and maintain UVM-based verification environments, testbenches, and reusable verification components.
* Develop constrained-random and coverage-driven verification solutions.
* Perform functional, code, and assertion coverage analysis and drive coverage closure.
* Collaborate closely with design, architecture, SoC integration, and validation teams to identify and resolve issues.
* Debug simulation failures and root-cause complex design and verification problems.
* Support subsystem and SoC integration activities, including test planning, test vector generation, and debug.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification methodologies, flows, and automation.
* Apply formal verification techniques where appropriate to improve design quality and verification efficiency.
## Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Engineer: 2+ years of ASIC/SoC design verification experience.
* Senior Engineer: 5+ years of ASIC/SoC design verification experience.
* Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
* Experience developing constrained-random and coverage-driven verification environments.
* Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
* Experience using RTL simulation and waveform debug tools.
* Scripting experience using Python, Perl, Shell, or similar languages.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience verifying ARM or RISC-V based processor or microcontroller subsystems.
* Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB).
* Experience with formal verification tools such as JasperGold or VC Formal.
* Knowledge of power-aware verification methodologies.
* Experience with SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
* Familiarity with gate-level simulation and low-power verification flows.
* Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming.
* Experience working in complex SoC development environments.
