Manager Emergency Services - Kite Flight

The Manager Emergency Services manages and coordinates Kite Flight activities. Responsible for staff scheduling, planning and organizing work priorities, and troubleshooting and solving departmental issues. Participates in hiring, and disciplinary processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing program as determined by the State Nursing Board -OR-
  • Graduate from an approved Paramedic training program as determined by the State Certifying Board of Paramedics
  • Texas Registered Nurse License upon hire -OR-
  • Texas Paramedic License – Texas Office of EMS-Trauma Systems upon hire
  • National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire 
  • National Provider ACLS – American Heart Association upon hire
  • National Provider PALS – American Heart Association upon hire
  • Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers must comply with all state laws and requirements for driving and provide proof of a driver’s license and auto insurance upon request. 
  • 6 years of recent experience as an EMT-P with an active 911 service or Flight Nursing/Transportation Nursing
  • 4 years of leadership experience including supervisory, lead, or project management responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic (NREMT-P)
  • Certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) or Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C)
  • Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Course
  • Registered Nurse Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB)
  • Certified in Neonatal Pediatric Transport (C-NPT)
  • Provider NRP – American Academy of Pediatrics or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • 5 years of PICU, NICU, and/or L&D experience
  • 3 years of experience in flight medicine; trainer or instructor experience (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
