People & Culture (P&C) Generalist
From the phenomenally successful Warner Bros. Studio Tours in London, Hollywood, and Tokyo, to flagship retail stores in New York, Chicago and Tokyo, the next exciting addition to this collection is Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai - The Making of Harry Potter, a completely new experience for Harry Potter fans in China.
Located in the heart of the city, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai – The Making of Harry Potter is an indoor attraction designed to transport visitors into the world of filmmaking, revealing production secrets through interactive experiences, showcasing stunning sets, and displaying beautifully crafted props.
This new attraction will deliver the Studio Tour values of exceptional customer service, experiences that exceed visitors’ expectations and the very best in Harry Potter retail.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai will be operated in partnership with Jinjiang International (Holdings) Co., Ltd, a State-Owned Enterprise, ensuring a world-class experience for all who visit.
Your New Role
The P&C Generalist will support the People & Culture team and the wider business in delivering practical, high-quality P&C support for Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai. The role will help coordinate and administer key people processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations support, training coordination, P&C systems, reporting, compliance administration and project support.
This position will be based in Shanghai, China.
Working closely with local leaders, employees, the wider Warner Bros. Discovery People & Culture community and external partners, the P&C Generalist will provide responsive, accurate and confidential support. The successful candidate will be highly organised, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to balance day-to-day administration with project coordination and problem solving.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Provide day-to-day People & Culture support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, employee data changes and general P&C administration.
- Support the implementation and coordination of P&C initiatives, including training coordination, employee engagement activities, performance management cycles, compensation planning and change management activity.
- Act as an initial point of contact for routine employee and manager queries, gathering information, escalating appropriately and supporting timely resolution in line with company policies and local requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee records and P&C data using systems and tools such as Beisen, Gaia, Excel and relevant local government portals.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, presentation materials, charts and other documents to support P&C initiatives, leadership updates and decision-making.
- Support international mobility and employee administration processes, including visa and work permit coordination, payroll inputs, employee documentation, social insurance contributions and related compliance activity.
- Coordinate with external temporary agencies and other vendors as required, ensuring accurate information flow and timely follow-up.
- Apply and communicate company policies and processes, ensuring alignment with WBSTS standards, Warner Bros. Discovery ways of working and applicable local regulations.
- Build effective working relationships with P&C centres of expertise, including Recruitment, Learning & Development, Technology and Compensation & Benefits, to support a seamless employee and manager experience.
- Monitor and support compliance with relevant China labour requirements, including social insurance, labour dispatch rules and employee data privacy obligations.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a Human Resources role, ideally within a multinational company, joint venture or customer-facing sector such as hospitality, retail or FMCG.
- Good understanding of P&C processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee administration, employee relations support and performance management.
- Working knowledge of China labour regulations and P&C compliance requirements, including social insurance, housing fund, labour dispatch and employee data privacy requirements.
- Experience using P&C systems and data tools; familiarity with Beisen, Gaia, Excel and local government portals would be advantageous.
- Strong Excel capability, including formulas, formatting, pivot tables and analysis of P&C data.
- Experience supporting visa and work permit processes for foreign workers in China would be advantageous.
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Please note that this position is employed through Warner Bros. Discovery’s joint venture with Jin Jiang International (Holdings) Co., Ltd. The joint venture entity is Shanghai WB Jinjiang Studio Tour Co., Ltd. Successful candidates will be hired by the joint venture company and assigned to work with Warner Bros. Discovery as required for this project.
