Skip to main content Behavior Intervention Specialist (26-27 SY)- Special Education Irving ISD Irving, TX Behavior Intervention Specialist (26-27 SY)- Special Education Irving ISD Irving, TX 2 months ago Be among the first 25 applicants See who Irving ISD has hired for this role Report this job IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICTBEHAVIOR SPECIALISTJob DescriptionJOB TITLE: Behavior SpecialistPAY GRADE: Admin/Prof 3WAGE/HOUR STATUS: ExemptDUTY DAYS: 198REPORTS TO: Director of Special EducationDEPARTMENT: Special Education DATE REVISED: June 2025This position is eligible for a Non-Chapter 21 ContractPrimary Purpose Provide intensive behavior intervention support for students and recommendations for teachers Provide intensive behavior training, modeling and support for staff at Wheeler and Irving ISDcampuses Assist the Special Education Director and provide leadership within the areas of teaching andlearning, materials, assessment and evaluation, and public relations relative to students withdisabilities Provide support and technical assistance to campus administrators, assessment staff, and centraloffice staff in special education instruction, programming, and services Support school staff with effective implementation of the students’ BIPQualificationsMinimum Education/Certification in one of the following: Master’s Degree Valid Educator Certification or other acceptable State Licensure, BCBA preferred A minimum of three years of experience in special education Experience working with students with significant behavioral needsSpecial Knowledge/Skills Experience in designing behavioral interventions for students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders Experience in monitoring student behaviors and progress Knowledge of researched-based best practices for providing specially designed instruction forstudents with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders Knowledge of federal and state rules governing the education of students with disabilities Ability to work cooperatively with others in attaining district special education program goals/objectives Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds Experience providing professional development to teachers and staff regarding behavioral best practicesMajor Responsibilities And Duties Serve as the district’s specialist for special education behavioral program planning, training,implementation and evaluation Develop, implement and maintain student data collection and progress monitoring system forstudents with emotional and behavioral disabilities Plan and implement staff development and parent education relating to special education programs Provide staff development to assist school personnel in the identification, understanding, andteaching of students with emotional and behavioral disabilities Confer and communicate with teachers and parents regarding the effectiveness of specialeducation programs for students with emotional and behavioral disorders Work closely with staff to coordinate, manage, assess needs, and determine student assignment inregards to special education programs Implement, supervise and evaluate the development of special education behavioral programs Collaborate with Family Specialist to meet the needs of students and families Compile special education program information into reports for parent groups and other audiences Compile requested data into reports required by...
