You'll also get to:Support operations and maintenance of a complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication system providing voice and data services in real world operationsMaintain and implement network architectureImplement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for networking devicesWork on multiple simultaneous tasksPerform routine network administration tasks as neededImplement OS and service pack updates on network devicesAdminister equipment and environments which include Linux servers/clients, network attached storage devices, virtual machines, routers, switches, firewalls, and HAIPEsPerform fundamental duties including data collection, Splunk monitoring, and maintaining the system’s cyber security postureUse network topology and diagrams for troubleshootingAssist and develop proficiency with other engineering disciplinesWork closely with Active-Duty military and internal Northrop Grumman Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)Work shift schedules during exercises or operational scheduling of up to a 12 hour workday on occasionThis position may be filled as a Principal Field Engineer (Network) or a Sr Principal Field Engineer (Network).Basic Qualifications for a Principal Field Engineer (Network):Bachelor's Degree and 5 years’ experience. An additional 4 years of experience in repair, configuration, troubleshooting, and operations of network devices and computer systems may be considered in lieu of a degreeMust complete current certification DoD 8140 CYBER WORKFORCE QUALIFICATION PROGRAM (CWQP) or greater (specifically, CompTIA Security+ certification) within 6 months of start date and must obtain either a Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification within 9 months of start dateExperience administering Linux and Cisco client/server systems, managing IP based networks, and ability to solve difficult technical problems focused on the delivery of voice and data services over wireless IP networksStrong understanding of the OSI model  (Open Systems Interconnection Model) and their respective functions in network communicationsProficient in configuring and troubleshooting external routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF to ensure efficient network traffic management and optimal routing decisionsMust be willing and able to lift up-to 50 pounds and carry boxes, equipment, etc as part of the warehousing and inventory control dutiesMust be willing to work flexible shift schedules during exercises or operational scheduling of up to a 12 hour workday on occasion (this may include weekends)US citizenship and a current/active U.S. Government Secret security clearance are requiredBasic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Field Engineer (Network):Bachelor's Degree and 8 years’ experience.
