Job Description
Job Summary
The candidate will help lead the creation of the Automotive Division’s first Regional Experience Team working closely with regional sales, engineering, and program management leaders to define a region-specific feature and experience roadmap while continuing to maintain close connection with Bose’s broader global technology roadmap.
This person will drive alignment with China sales and engineering teams to create and execute a roadmap needed to support new products and delivery models in region. This person will serve as the voice of the China business and drive prioritization based on market trends, OEM needs, and competitive landscape and will ultimately own the financial performance of our products in region.
You will research and network with prospective technology partners and advise leaders of both established lines of business and early-stage innovation projects. You will establish relationships with technology partners, negotiate and execute licensing and co-development deals, and manage ongoing relationships. You will lead and develop key strategic relationships and multi-faceted partnerships with concurrent partner projects/programs. You will represent Bose to the partner and champion these projects internally. You will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team through the initial phase of engagement to the launch of these projects.
Responsibilities for Product…
Define SW platform requirements and capabilities that advance the platform category strategy and deliver business value by working collaboratively with sales, marketing, engineering and partners. Working with CSA (Customer System/Software Architect) or other SME (Subjective matter expert, like DSP SW architect) to analyze key building blocks include algo blocks, key enabler infrastructure software components, existing concept with high maturity, promote reuse of those key elements, while identify new building blocks, concepts necessary for new experience to form scope of the PRE-development or customer project, identify unique blocks across customers to add product configuration or other efficient approach to satisfy different customer needs (Aka Platform approach here).
Continuously evaluate internal and external factors to understand and articulate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for platform capabilities
Work with engineering to create definitions for major platform increments that effectively support the platform vision and build business cases to demonstrate the financial viability of the platform
Manage a backlog of minor platform increments to ensure platforms continue to be maintained and optimized for new product experiences and customer requirements
Drive pricing/cost alignment to ensure platform work supports financial targets
Maintain critical documents and tools used to ensure platforms capabilities are visible to and aligned with critical stakeholders
Support customer engagements and new business pursuits for platform related matters including gathering critical information, supporting options analysis and influencing as needed to align with platform strategy
Identify and evaluate potential product and platform partners in the Chinese market to expand our market reach
Report into global product and technology teams to ensure connection between regional and global technology strategy
Act as the primary point of contact for regional partners and maintain productive relationships through goal and strategy alignment
Define and manage a product roadmap aimed at the Chinese market
Ensure platform needs are clearly represented in automotive processes and provide regular updates to key stakeholders on platform progress, challenges, and strategies

Work in collaboration with global Partnerships team teams to ensure connection between regional and global technology strategy
Synthesize business goals, strategies, and visions into partnership opportunities.
Scout for and establish relationships with new partners.
Develop and manage trusted cross-functional relationships with assigned set of current partners, driving and tracking towards established mutually beneficial goals and milestones.
Align partnership goals and specific partner projects with external partners and internal stakeholders.
Negotiate and execute licensing and co-development contracts with current and new partners.
Develop close relationships with Bose’s business leaders, product management, corporate development, legal and licensing, engineering, advanced development, and research teams to identify needs and opportunities for outside technologies to enhance Bose product experiences.
Coordinate partnership activities with colleagues in Sales and Marketing as partnership activities go to market.

Qualification, Education and Experiences
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
MBA or other advanced degree a plus
5+ years of SW product management experience
Sound understanding of software architecture
Automotive industry experience preferred
Audio industry experience a plus
Affinity for automotive, and audio/video technologies and trends
Effective communicator with experience delivering presentations to customers and leadership
Experience managing a SW product/platform from definition through end of life
Strong financial acumen and experience with business case development
Capable of effectively managing products in a matrix organization and driving results through indirect influencing
"Information junkie" that thrives on being the first to know about new technology.
Highly polished writing ability, very strong presentation, and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions
Strong understanding of motivations and incentives of all parties in negotiations, in order to drive actionable solutions.
Demonstrated experience with the process of working with internal business and legal stakeholders to craft licensing, joint development, and collaboration agreements with partner companies.
Understanding of the work involved in product planning, HW and SW product development, and launch. Familiarity with this in B2B or automotive markets specifically is a strong plus.
Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues, senior stakeholders, and executives, especially within Marketing, Engineering, Research, and Sales.
