We are seeking an experienced Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our Middle East Engineering Team in Dubai, UAE.
The Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer is responsible for executing the hardware technology roadmap for the Eaton EMEA PMCC and LSDPI product portfolio, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Low Voltage Switchgear, embedded systems, IoT-enabled products, and related industrial control solutions. The role provides technical leadership for new technology introduction, support in new product introduction and value analysis/value engineering, PCB modernization, support to manufacturing functions and sustaining engineering initiatives.
The position is responsible for the design, development, validation, and optimization of electronic hardware solutions, ensuring compliance with product requirements, quality standards, cost targets, and project schedules. The role drives technical decision-making through engineering analysis, simulations, testing, and validation activities while leading technical reviews and supporting innovation, continuous improvement, and product lifecycle management.
Success in this role requires strong system-level thinking, technical depth in embedded hardware design, and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. The engineer is expected to identify and implement innovative technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to the development of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective product solutions.
## What you’ll do:
* Define and execute the hardware technology roadmap for the EMEA business covering lLSDPI and PMCC division, including Programmable Logic Controllers, Low Voltage Switchgear, embedded systems, IoT products, suppressors, contactors, Emergency lighting, Intrusion systems, Fire panels and other control products.
* Develop and align common hardware strategies in collaboration with Global Business Units, Product Management, and cross-functional engineering teams.
* Lead hardware engineering activities for new product introduction, new technology introduction , PCB modernization, value engineering, and sustaining engineering project, alongiwith support for manufacturing activites
* Drive adoption of emerging technologies related to PLC platforms, IoT-enabled solutions, PCB design, manufacturing processes, and electronic hardware architectures.
* Provide technical leadership for hardware design, architecture reviews, component selection, validation, and product lifecycle management activities.
* Support ownership of P&P projects and serve as a technical approver for hardware engineering deliverables where applicable.
* Collaborate across Eaton businesses and engineering functions to ensure efficient execution and knowledge sharing.
* Lead standardization and modernization of common hardware modules across multiple product platforms.
* Drive component lifecycle and obsolescence management initiatives to ensure long-term product sustainability and supply continuity.
* Develop and strengthen the engineering ecosystem required for PCB modernization and hardware technology transformation.
* Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for technology advancement, product optimization, and cost reduction.
* Promote innovation through development of new concepts, intellectual property generation, technical disclosures, and patent submissions.
* Support technology readiness advancement through proof-of-concept, prototyping, validation, and product commercialization activities.
