The Production Operator is responsible for operating automated robotic welding cells to produce high-quality welded components in a safe, efficient, and repeatable manner. This role focuses on loading parts, monitoring equipment performance, performing quality inspections, completing routine preventive maintenance, and communicating equipment or process issues to the appropriate teams. Successful operators take pride in producing quality work, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Operate automated robotic welding cells to produce quality welded assemblies.
- Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling while ensuring proper setup.
- Operate production software to run manufacturing programs.
- Monitor equipment performance and report operational issues to the appropriate team.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
- Inspect finished parts and prepare weld samples using cutting, grinding, sanding, and etching processes.
- Record production and quality data using basic computer applications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support efficient operations.
Who You Are
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or welding.
- Experience operating automated or robotic production equipment.
- Familiarity with common hand tools and basic preventive maintenance.
- Experience with quality inspection processes and camera-based inspection systems is a plus.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift production materials.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
