Job Description
 

Business Continuity Management reports to the Executive Director, Risk Governance within the Finance group based in Foster City, California. This role will be part of a team that is responsible for the governance and support of Business Continuity Management (BCM) at Gilead.  The Senior Risk Analyst, Risk Governance is responsible for supporting the business with the development, maintenance, and exercise of business continuity plans and contributing to the annual BCM goals and objectives required to achieve alignment with the company’s strategic direction and risk profile.  Analytical thinking, project management, and communication skills are key success factors in this role.

The preferred office location for this role is Foster City, CA but we will also consider Raleigh, NC.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining Business Continuity Program documentation, including but not limited to policies, standards, governance models, program procedures and tools and templates

  • Collaborate with other BCM team colleagues to plan and execute small projects that improve the BCM program’s services, tools, and standards  

  • Prepare status reports and summary metrics for management 

  • Assist with the required periodic plan updates are completed and tabletop exercises are scheduled  

  • In the event of an incident, provide BCM support in the crisis management response as directed and communicate business recovery activities and status communications to relevant crisis management team leaders 

  • Interact with BCM participants to support their use of the Fusion system  

  • Support cross-regional and cross-functional coordination of plans and activities across international sites and business units

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and Five Years' Experience 

OR 

Masters' Degree and Three Years' Experience 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Requires analytical thinking skills  Requires project management skills  

  • Strong communication, interviewing, and presentation skills are required  

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven and multi-tasking environment 

  • Understanding of corporate functions and ability to map processes 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) 

  • Knowledge of standard Business Continuity Management (BCM) or Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks, e.g., COSO,ISO, or ICS (Incident Command Structure)

  • Experience working with AI models to create program content is a plus 

  • Experience working in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is a plus

  • Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across teams and levels 

  • Business continuity certification, such as DRI International ABCP or CBCP or BCI (Business Continuity Institute), is a plus

  • Experience working in a multinational company is a plus


The salary range for this position is:

Bay Area: $109,650.00 - $141,900.00.
