Once the 999 hours are up temporary hours can be renewed at the employers’ recommendation.Basic Purpose: Perform professional alternative instruction at the secondary and occasionally the primary level for educationally and motivationally challenged youth. The successful candidate will have the ability to help students in all core academic areas. Sooner Job Challenge partners with EPIC Charter School and will be using the Edmentum/Plato curriculum for the current school year.Essential Functions:• Under supervision of the Lead Instructor, perform professional alternative instruction at the secondary and occasionally the primary level for educationally and motivationally challenged youth and other curriculum as required for student development.• Maintain records of student progress and report to Lead Instructor weekly.• Administer specialized testing.• Review and evaluate new materials for classroom use and apply techniques to encourage academic improvement.• Maintain control of the learning environment by implementing program policies and classroom conduct rules and procedures in a fair and equitable manner for the students.• May be required to direct and supervise educational field trips, student social and/or recreational activities. • Attend educational, institutional and department meetings as required.• Inventory educational materials, supplies and equipment in assigned classroom.• Perform related work as required by the supervisor.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
