Our Technology Team partners with teams across Expedia Group to create innovative products, services, and tools that deliver exceptional traveler experiences. Within this organization, the InsurTech team builds and scales insurance, protection, and assurance products that help travelers book with confidence and peace of mind while creating new value for Expedia Group and its partners.
As a Mobile Engineer III, iOS, you will help build and scale traveler protection solutions across flights, lodging, rental cars, and emerging value-added services.
In this role, you will own the iOS experience for products that span critical customer touchpoints, including shopping, checkout, confirmation, post-booking, and self-service experiences. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and insurance partners to bring new offerings to market and expand existing products across Expedia Group brands and global points of sale.
This is a highly collaborative and impactful role where you will operate with significant ownership and autonomy. You'll partner with a distributed mobile engineering community across multiple geographies while serving as a key iOS expert for the InsurTech team. Success in this role requires strong technical execution, the ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel, and a passion for solving complex customer and business challenges through high-quality mobile experiences.
In This Role, You Will:
Design, build, and maintain native iOS applications that are secure, performant, and resilient using modern iOS frameworks and best practices
Translate product and experience requirements into clear technical designs (LLD, API design, data models)
Collaborate cross‑functionally with backend, product, design, and quality teams to deliver end‑to‑end customer journeys
Write clean, testable, and observable code; contribute to automated testing, monitoring, and code reviews
Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, improving application reliability and performance
Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions while maintaining privacy and security standards
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or 5 years of equivalent practical experience
Professional experience shipping native iOS applications with ownership from design through production
Strong iOS architecture, low‑level design, API integration, and data modeling experience
Proficiency with iOS tools, frameworks, testing, observability, and operational best practices
Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver mobile features across multiple products or domains
Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects from requirements through production with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing and scaling complex iOS architectures (modularization, performance, offline support)
Proven delivery of high‑impact iOS features across multiple domains
Strong focus on operational excellence (instrumentation, monitoring, alerting, incident resolution)
Experience working in large-scale platforms or shared codebases where solutions span multiple teams and customer journeys
Experience integrating AI/ML‑enabled capabilities into mobile apps securely and responsibly
Experience balancing and delivering multiple projects or feature initiatives simultaneously
Familiarity with AI‑driven development tools and applying AI/ML concepts to improve product quality and developer efficiency
Please note that this role is only available in Seattle, WA, in alignment with our flexible work model, which requires employees to be in the office at least three days a week. We are unable to offer relocation assistance for this role.
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $146,000.00 to $204,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $233,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
