BESS Strategic Customer Specialist

Are you passionate about building strategic customer relationships in the energy storage sector? Do you enjoy understanding customer needs, influencing business decisions, and helping shape innovative digital solutions?

You will manage relationships with some of GreenPowerMonitor's (GPM) most strategic BESS customers, particularly with a focus on the Chinese market. Acting as the voice of the customer, you will gather market insights, identify growth opportunities, and work closely with product, commercial, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure our solutions continue to meet evolving market needs.

What will you do?

• Manage and grow relationships with GPM’s key strategic BESS customers, particularly in the Chinese market, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Drive business growth opportunities across Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hybrid Plants, and Grid applications by supporting strategic commercial initiatives and coordinating with regional sales and cross-functional teams.
• Act as the voice of the customer within GPM, proactively capturing customer needs, challenges, and future requirements to ensure they are understood and addressed across the organization.
• Collect and share market intelligence, including customer feedback, industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities, to support business strategy and decision-making.
• Translate customer and market requirements into solution opportunities, collaborating closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Delivery teams to enhance GPM’s products and services.
• Support strategic customer engagements at both technical and business levels, helping customers maximize the value, performance, and reliability of their energy storage assets through GPM’s digital solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the energy storage market, sharing knowledge, mentoring commercial teams, and contributing to GPM’s growth and market positioning in the BESS sector.

To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) industry, ideally in areas such as operations, commissioning, asset management, performance monitoring, technical support, solution engineering, or related functions.
• Solid understanding of BESS technologies, system operation, performance optimization, and the technical and commercial challenges faced by asset owners and operators.
• Experience with customer-facing responsibilities with the ability to understand business needs, build trust-based relationships, and deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, with the ability to conduct business discussions, presentations, and negotiations in both languages.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required to support customers, business development activities, and industry events.
