Account Executive, SMB UberEats, SoCal (LA-Based)
About the role and team
Sales at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don’t come with a script. As an Account Executive for Eats SMB, you will bridge the digital and real worlds by bringing the best local and regional restaurants onto the Uber Eats platform, creating a tangible impact for earners and communities. This role is about more than just selling a product; it is about building long-term partnerships in a fast-changing environment where your success is measured by the growth you drive for our partners.
The pace here is intense and requires a "go-get-it" attitude to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to onboarding. You will face the messy reality of cold-calling and navigating tough negotiations, which requires resilience, resourcefulness, and grit. If you are energized by the challenge of hitting ambitious targets and thrive in an environment where you must figure things out as you go, you will find tremendous purpose here.
What you’ll do
- Build and grow long-term partnerships by understanding what matters most to our customers rather than just pushing a product.
- Own and manage a pipeline of local small and medium restaurants to sign new partnerships using a high-volume mix of cold-calling, emails, and in-person meetings.
- Navigate contract negotiations to establish strong working relationships while ensuring sustainable economics for both the restaurant and Uber.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and account management teams to resolve blockers and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new partners.
- Adapt your sales approach based on shifting market dynamics and client needs, often making decisions with imperfect information.
- Communicate clearly and stay resilient through tough conversations and the inevitable "no" to raise the bar for the team.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or similar performance-based functions.
- Experience with full-cycle sales including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals.
- Proficiency in managing high-volume outreach through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Experience using Salesforce and Google Suite to track pipeline data and drive decision-making.
- Ability to influence stakeholders without authority to unlock value for clients.
